El Marques Palace by Intercorp Group

We booked this through RCI, who pride themselves on having 5 star properties for their members. This is nowhere near a 5 star hotel. It is a 3 star as advertised practically everywhere except RCI. We did still have a nice stay at this hotel. Pros: very nice staff, clean, quiet, nice pool, large apar**ent with large balcony, ample storage space, AC worked well as did the WIFI, 2 grocery stores right next to the building, rental car available just a block away, nice restaurants within walking distance, clothes washer in the apar**ent but no laundry detergent provided (bring your own), nice rooftop solarium with ocean view but closes at 7, well before sunset. Cons: building is getting old; cheap quality appliances, cookware, towels and utensils; very little is provided for your week long stay: no paper towels or napkins, only a bit of coffee, 1 bottle of water, a few packets of shampoo, no oven mitts even though there is an oven, need to pay to use the safe in the room, narrow tub so shower curtain sticks to your legs and last but certainly not least, the hotel and basically the whole town is built on the side of a cliff so steep walking no matter where you go. Although our stay was good, we would not come back here mainly because of the steep walking required.

This is a nice resort in the middle of Los Gigantes close to all amenities. Great views over La Gomera!

We joined friends for a holiday to El Marquez Palace in Tenerife; the units themselves were incredibly poorly equipped, tatty looking and poorly maintained. the bed linen was almost see through and the towels, although clean were grey and shabby the floors were filthy very aggravating to be charged 18 euros per week for the use of a safe - equally annoying the charge of 3 euros per day for a beach towel. I took this up with Intercorp and was told I should have made my feelings known at the time - I did complain about the safe and towel charge but I have to say I doubt whether the apar**ents would have been redecorated while we were there! we saw 3 apar**ents during our stay, a 2 bed that we had for 1 week, our friend's 1 bed they had for week 1 and the 2 bed we shared for week 2 - all equally tired looking. the cost was over 1000 euros for one week - not a peak Easter week!! the only favourable thing was the friendliness of the reception staff

Always the same apar**ent which is very good. We always enjoy our stay. However, the pool regulations are somewhat scarce. No inflatables permitted, but almost everyday the pool was full of them. Needs to be enforced to allow decent swimming space for guests.

Have visited many times before and without exception it is very good. Clean, well kept public areas and apar**ents. This time I stayed in one of the smaller one bedroomed apar**ents which didn’t have a sea view which was a little disappointing but perfectly fine

Great hotel with all your needs. Best thing is the heated pool. Friendly staff. Hotel probably needs an upgrade but that won’t deter us returning, Location ok although on a busy roundabout.

Very quiet place far from noisy places. suitable for tourists of older age. But young vacationers may be disappointed. Nearby a large supermarket and good restaurants. There is a beautiful view of Los Gigantes.

Overall, a very positive experience. The hotel is what it says, a 3-star hotel. + The receptionist was excellent. Seemingly, nothing was too much trouble. + The hotel is very clean. + The maids were very good at cleaning the room. - The settee in the lounge only sits 3 in a 4 person apar**ent, which is annoying. - The pool bar doesn't open when it says it does. - The AC in the room is a bit poor. Note, that the resort (Puerto De Santiago) is very hilly and not for the unfit.

The 3 bed apar**ent was very well equipped. A huge advantage is that LIDL is just across the road so very convenient for water, milk and fresh bread etc. The TV had a variety of stations in English and other languages. The rooms were large and bright and airy. There is no Air Conditioning but it wasn't required in December. The pool towels are large but the room towels are small and need to be changed daily. So you need to put a sign on the door each day. The huge balcony is shady which must be an advantage in the summer. The pool was fabulous and was warm when we were there. The location is close to many restaurants and bars and 10/15 minute walk to the beach. A steep walk back from beach but the taxi fare was just €4 from the beach in December 2023. Los Gigantes is a nice resort but is quite far from the airport (€62 by taxi) and Los Cristianos (€50 by taxi). If you intend to go sightseeing, a hire car is a good option. Paid parking is available with the apar**ent which is great because on street parking is difficult to find. The location is not lively enough for teens/20 year olds in my opinion. At the time we were in Tenerife the sea was quite rough so I didn't go swimming in the sea.
