Miramare Resort & Spa

What a wonderfully beautiful and stunning hotel this is, views that can be seen from pretty much everywhere and that go on for miles. We stayed in a superior room with a balcony, which was fairly basic but had everything we needed. If you would like the use of the safe in the room, it will be an extra 30€ for a week. We only used the Aegeon pool, which was great. Considering we went towards the end of the school holidays in August, we never struggled to get sunbeds, even turning up at 10:00 after breakfast. I would recommend trying to get the metal framed beds as the wooded ones were not comfortable at all. The food was good, and I never struggled to find lovely food to eat. Grill station was always going with meat and fish and greek salad at all times! We would definitely recommend the Cretan night they run on a Wednesday, Crete musicians and dancers, cheese maker demonstrating and food cooked over coals on a bbq. This is extra even on all-inclusive and drinks are also an extra charge. We stayed on an all-inclusive deal that we booked with Tui. All the meals and food were amazing, but unfortunately the drinks package is not the best. Beer, wine and soft drinks are included but no cocktails or other spirits apart from Ouzo and Raki. We found out that if you book with Jet2holidays, you automatically get an upgraded package where other drinks are included, including some cocktails. Almyros beach to the right looking out at sea is possibly the best beach we've been to, crystal clear water, snorkelling was fantastic and one of our highlights as well as jet skiing! Miramare owns the first 100 yards of the beach, which is a bit quieter. They charge 15€ for 2 sunbeds, parasol and 2 bottles of water. Further down is only 10€ but busier. The lady who collects the money is fantastic, likes a chat and tells you exactly as it is, no beating about the bush! She does tell you at the very beginning that if you leave your beds to go back to the hotel for lunch, your stuff will be removed and your beds given to someone else. All staff from reception, bar, restaurant, cleaners and gardeners are all lovely and friendly and will always try to help where possible Transfer time from the airport to the hotel is around 2 hours by coach, not 50 minutes that Tui says. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it's fantastic and cannot wait to return!!

Had a fabulous week at the Miramare Hotel. We arrived very late but everything was sorted quickly by the reception staff who were so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. Our room was immaculate and the air con was marvellous. The view of the Aegean Sea from our room was spectacular. The restaurant was tan with military precision, everything in its place and dirty plates were removed immediately after eating. The food was exquisitely presented and a wonderful choice each night. Again the hard working staff were always smiling and friendly. The pools were cleaned every evening and they were delightful. The pools never seemed too busy and were lovely to relax by. The main bar run by Manolito was an absolute delight and we enjoyed most evenings relaxing there. Georgio and Manolito were fabulous hosts and we had such great banter with them and They gave us lots of information about Crete. Overall it was a great holiday everything about it but the staff of the Miramare make it very special and I can’t wait to go again next year. ❤️❤️

The accommodation is spotless- thank you cleaning staff and the hotel offers all we needed. We used the gym and it was excellent. We were HB and worked extremely well for our family with teenage daughters. See you again - we can’t wait to return!

We booked the hotel with the all-in formula. Very helpfull and friendly staff, at the reception, the lobby bar, the swimming pool bar and the buffet restaurant. The choices of drink are of good quality. The manager of the buffet restaurant led you kindly to a table and his team ask directly for the drinks. The buffet is of excellent quality with many choices and all day there are varieties. The room is cleaned every day and you receive new towels. As the hotel is located on a steep slope, maybe less suitable for older people, but there are elevators. Wifi is weak on some places, but overall a great hotel. Certainly highly recommandated.

We stayed in May 2024 for 7 nights and have booked to return in September 2024 for 10 nights. Hotel is clean and maintained to a high standard at all times. The views are stunning. There is a choice of 3 pools so can switch your views. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and the service is 10/10. We stayed all inclusive plus, there is a wide variety of food choices in the restaurant at all meal times and a large drinks selection at the Bar. We arrived late and had snacks and drinks left in the fridge for us in our room. The hotel is located 10 mins from the centre with 2 beaches close by. Cant wait for our September visit!

We really had a wonderful 2 weeks. The views were spectacular. The hotel was kept immaculate and the gardens. Our room had a lovely view of the marina and had a shady terrace which was needed after a day in the hot sun. It was cleaned daily and teas and coffees replenished. The food was delicious,particularly the breakfasts.Desserts were lovely and such a large selection. Loved the top pool because it was breezy up there with great sea views but all the pools were nice. The beach to the right was a short walk away ( 10 mins) and sandy and very relaxing with the beautiful Mountains on view.There was a closer beach nearby with little bars around a short walk to the left. We loved the town,marina and the lake area with its lovely eating places. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and pleasant. Will definitely be returning.Not for people with mobility problems I would say. Thank you for an amazing holiday.

We have just stayed for 10 nights at the Miramare and what a fantastic time we had. We had been upgraded to a one bedroom suite which was a nice surprise and had the most amazing view over the sea and local beach. The hotel itself was lovely. Three pools to choose from but we loved the local beach which was a 5 min walk away. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was great, the assortment of food everyday was brilliant and nothing ran out, they were always refilling the trays quickly. The bar staff were great too, always happy and nice to chat too. The town of Agios Nikolaus is wonderful to go into in the evening. Loads of restaurants to choose from and lovely streets to wander down and many shops to look in. The lake is beautiful at night when it is all lit up. We found a small cafe/bar called Aroma Cafe which we went I most nights. Milo’s and Yianni (father and son) ran it and they were great fun and recommended restaurants to go to. All in all we loved Agios Nikolaus and will certainly go back soon!!! Highly recommend Crete!!

Like many have said, this is not the best choice if you are having trouble with stairs and/or climbing steep hills. If not, this is a good choice for a great holiday. We were here for a week with all-inclusive and enjoyed everything. The staff was very friendly and polite, room was cleaned daily and it was always spotless after that. The young man (like he described himself) at the bar was always so funny and happy, even when there was a big hurry and a lot of customers in line. So were others, always smiling and doing everything for the customers. Food was good and there was something for everyone. You didn't have to get your own drinks even when traveling AI, there was many smiling staff members who came to you right away after sitting down and asked what you want to drink. They filled your glass when empty and took plates away when they were empty. All of them were so polite and always smiling. Don't forget to leave some tip, there is a box next to entrance. Pools were quite big but remember to get there early if you want to have sunbeds. Some mornings all were taken around 10 am. There is plenty of them but also plenty of people. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to walk to Agios Nikolaos center, not bad but now it was like +30 Celsius even in the evening so that made it a sweaty trip. Fortunately there was many good cafes and restaurants to have some refreshments. We had room 825 which was great. Balcony had a great view to the city and the ocean and the morning sun shined there warmly. Good water pressure I'm th shower, and it was very peaceful. No noises from other rooms etc. All and all, good and clean hotel quite close to city with great staff. If you are not week legged or having trouble walking etc this is a good choice. Elevators were broken quite often so you can't rely on them all the time.

Me and my daughter have stayed at the Miramare every summer the last three years in a row. This place has totally taken our hearts! ❤️ Of course the location is amazing. The overall atmosphere at the hotel is warm and positive and the staff is way beyond the usual: always greeting their guests with a smile in their face and willing to help, no matter what. We have had the greatest honor to get to know many people working at the hotel and spa and we also feel strongly that we have been valued as a returning quests. If you value great location, positive atmosphere and excellent service attitude we can warmly recommend Miramare for you.
