Beach is small but very good , nice soft sand , protected from wind , transparent water. Buffet. One for breakfast and dinner looks like cantina with too many package tourists not a pleasant spending time there And that’s a real pity that the hotel doesn’t have only breakfast. Rooms with a mountain view are not having view at all only to the plants in front of hotels , all mountains are closed by the bushes , if you book this category of rooms ask for the highest floor

Superb in all aspects. Wonderful staff, brilliant location with being beach front and walking distance into the lovely Elounda. The main buffet restaurant provided fantastic food with a great range to satisfy the family. The staff were all so friendly, jovial and could do enough to help.

Our family had the pleasure of staying at the Elounda Bay Palace Hotel in late June and early July, and it was an unforgettable experience. This 5-star hotel, nestled against the stunningly clean azure sea, offers a serene and picturesque getaway. Location and Ambience: The hotel is beautifully situated, just south of Elounda Bay, about 15 minutes walk to the seaside town. The Bungalow Rooms we were offered offered breathtaking views of the bay, with a couple of well maintained beaches below us. The tranquil environment is perfect for a relaxing family vacation, quiet with the exception of the odd wedding, but a perfect place to get away from it all. The lush gardens and well-maintained grounds add to the overall charm of the property and there was not a piece of litter about the place. Accommodation: While parts of the hotel are a bit dated, it's clear that efforts are being made to modernise the facilities. Our room was a sea view Bungalow - spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed with all the necessary amenities. It had been modernised recently and was comfortable to live in for our two week having a small garden to the front, and pool and beached a few steps away. The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job of keeping everything spotless. Amenities: The hotel boasts a range of amenities suitable for all ages. All the swimming pools are clean and well-maintained, providing a perfect spot for both kids and adults to unwind. There are water sports available from the beach, and we took the opportunity to take a pilot and boat out along the coast for a few hours which was a real treat. The sea quality was the real star, it was pristine, and despite the odd wedding decoration being blown into the sea, you will not be disappointed in its clarity. I was able to snorkel around the coast and saw Octopus, Cuttlefish, and all sorts of fish and shell. Just Beautiful. Special shout out to Franchesco who looked after the sunbeds on the smaller beach. He was a really lovely guy who looked after our beds and towels with a chat an smile. Dining: The dining options were restricted for us as we were half board, but the variety of food was perfect for our wider family- a delicious and diverse cuisine. The breakfast buffet was a particular favourite, featuring a wide selection of fresh and tasty options. The staff were attentive and always ready to accommodate special requests especially Theadoras who greeted us every morning and evening at our table. The only criticism which management might take on board is that the pricing and quality of drinks was appalling. I ordered the cheapest wine (33 Euros) which was 7.50 in the local mart - so we only drank water (10 Euro a bottle). We ordered cocktails only once from the Sail Bar, and it was just soda water and mint... not the mojito I was expecting. Always a pleasure to be here! This is our third trip in 2 years and we love the place! It’s a nice beautiful mature hotel with nice surroundings. We like the old vibe from the hotel which makes it easy to relax & enjoy your vacation. The many olive trees and nature are worth to see. We love the little beach where we make our daily swim! We love the activities: tennis, watersports, aqua aerobic,… Also the choice of multiple restaurants is very nice! Staff is always very friendly. Special thanks to Victoria for the warm welcome & great service! Hope to come soon again!

Lovely setting with rooms spread out across the area surrounding the small bay, some like ours with private sharing pools. It is clearly a very old hotel and in needed of renovation, our room particularly was very tired, the shower doesn’t work as it should even after the maintenance man was sent to fix it, three times. There were only 2 sockets suitable for our adapters, even the hotel ones were the same, the shaver socket in the bathroom could not be used for an electric toothbrush and again there were no suitable adapters. The sun loungers fall apart every time they are moved and we had to put them back together again. The pool had algae growing on the sides, we had to request it be cleaned. We were supposedly given an upgrade because the classic bungalow with sharing pool was being renovated, we were assured we would not hear any works going on….. completely wrong, nearly every day we could hear the continuous banging. The cleaners and waiting staff are mostly elderly local woman, very cheerful and work non-stop, but it is clear they are under staffed and too much is expected of them. The rooms were never thoroughly cleaned, but I did not want to get the cleaners into trouble they clearly had too much to do with insufficient time allowed, so said nothing, all rooms are supposed to be serviced by 3.00pm, but most days it was later and twice I needed to request a cleaner, one day our room did not get serviced and all we got was an evening turn down service, really not acceptable. All staff are very helpful and eager to get things done, but there are some things that cannot be fixed and need replacing. The adjustable bed control must have stopped working a long time ago as they were pushed under the bed out of sight, we did not pursue it. There were weighing scales in the bathroom that did not work, why leave them there or more importantly, why put them there in the first place, who wants to weigh themselves on holiday! As a 5* hotel, I would not expect to be continually speaking to reception about things not working or not being done. We had to ask for the lights on our pool to be turned on at night, even if only for safety reasons, after 3 nights they were turned on, but it shouldn’t be necessary to ask. We went to look at the Elounda Beach hotel, a sister hotel to ours and also a 5*, but clearly it is a much more deserved rating, having spoken to a couple that have stayed at both they confirmed Elounda Beach is far superior. We expect drinks to be more expensive, but these were beyond what we would reasonably expect, one night we went for dinner with our half-finished wine from the night before and we were almost treated like criminals, the waiter gave us a long hard stare and the restaurant manager came over to top up our glasses obviously to make sure we were drinking wine purchased at the restaurant. It was embarrassing to say the least. If they expect us to drink a bottle of wine every night perhaps they should consider reducing t

There is no doubt about it, this is a stunningly located hotel with beautiful gardens, private swimming areas and views over the wonderful Elounda Bay. Low rise, tastefully decorated and generally clean however algae in the pools could have been managed better (raised with staff). The beds were excellent, we were able to sleep well which is sometimes not the case in other hotels. Really enjoyed breakfast, lots of choice and well prepared. However, we didn’t like half board as much because the restaurant kept running out of key options (such as meat), queues could be massive and all drinks are very, very expensive. Overall the half board dining experience didn’t feel 5* or special. We also had an initial problem with towel supplies, but after a chat with the manager this was rectified. One last note, if there is a conference or wedding things can get a little chaotic from a service point of view especially in the beach bar. Noise from weddings can also be distracting, we complained about fireworks and inappropriate language over tannoys but this wasn’t necessarily the hotel’s fault. Overall, with a few tweaks, this would be an excellent hotel but, at the moment, I would put it as 4* rather than five.

Well what can we say, the staff here are amazing Anna Marie and manager Dimitri couldn’t have been more attentive in making sure our stay was going to be fabulous .. Upgraded to the most stunning villa ..2 birthdays and wedding anniversary to celebrate and it will be in style .. Again a big thank you to the hotel staff for arranging everything and looking forward to a great stay in a beautiful location.

This holiday has been one of the best! All the Staff especially Maria at the beach bar are wonderful and welcoming The food in all the restaurants is delicious. but the cherry on the top of this stay has to be the incredible location From the moment we arrive we were made to feel special Can't wait to go back again in late September . I highly recommend this wonderful Hotel it's more than 5 stars much more So what are you waiting for, once you've been here you'll never go anywhere else again ❤️
