Le Mas d'Entremont

The only reason that this place got 4 and not 5 points, is because they have a very poor internet connection and they don't even care. The hotel is pretty amazing, the old farm vibes are charming, they have a lovely restaurant, very nice breakfast options, everything is simply perfect. If only they could explain to the guests why they have no way to connect to the internet.

Our experience at Le Mas D'Etremont was nothing short of a nigh**are. Lured by the enticing reviews and photos of Le Mas promising a luxurious stay near Aix city center complete with a swimming pool, we decided to treat ourselves, despite the fact that Le Mas was twice the cost of our fantastic Avignon stay. Oh, how we regretted that decision! Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a receptionist whose mood was as dreary as the room she showed us to - a "Superior room in the Park" at the steep rate of €290 per night, excluding breakfast. This room resembled a dark, dismal cave, with a small and poorly maintained outdoor space. It was so dismal that we immediately requested another room, only to be informed that the hotel was allegedly fully booked, leaving us with the only option of upgrading to a Junior suite at an additional cost of €60 per night. The Junior suite, while marginally better, was still unimpressive and dull. But let's attempt to list the few positive aspects of our stay first: 1. The pool was the only redeeming feature. With virtually no other guests in sight, we had it entirely to ourselves. 2. Our room was at least quiet, providing some respite from the overall disappoin**ent. Now, let's delve into the abyss of our experience with the bad points: 1. Despite this hotel presumably having at least forty rooms, we encountered a grand total of twelve other guests during our entire 48-hour stay. This left the hotel devoid of any a**osphere and gave the impression that it was closed for the season. 2. The grounds and hotel buildings were shockingly shabby, as if they hadn't seen an update in decades. It was as though time had forgotten this place. 3. The outside restaurant, although picturesque, appeared abandoned. Around forty tables were set for dining, complete with tablecloths, cutlery, and wine glasses. However, they were marred by leaf debris, no guests were dining, and the a**osphere was reminiscent of a forlorn film set. 4. We interacted with a mere three staff members during our stay - the sullen receptionist, a lone waiter at breakfast (where no other guests were present), and a gardener. It felt like a ghost town. 5. Speaking of guests, we only counted a grand total of twelve others during our stay. This raises suspicions that most of the hotel had been mothballed. 6. The pool area, while seemingly tranquil, was plagued by significant traffic noise, courtesy of the hotel's unfortunate location next to a busy main road, albeit concealed by trees. To be perfectly honest, we would have abandoned ship after the first night if not for the fact that we had provided our credit card details when booking. Our heartfelt advice: do not even consider booking this hotel; it's a travesty of hospitality.

We enjoyed our stay here very much with just a couple of hiccups. The entire resort is gorgeous and charming and provided a nice respite. I did not find the pool to be in need of repair as some others have suggested, so maybe work has been done. We ended all our days with a swim and were also grateful for the air conditioning in our room during a very hot spell. The staff were very gracious and helpful although we had a problem with the laundry service (took our entire stay to get it done) and had to leave without one item (but they are shipping it to us). We also found that not all the items in our room were replaced each day (coffee, creamer, etc.) One other thing to note is this is outside of Aix and a little challenging to get to. We had a car but on the last day we took Uber into Aix; I highly recommend it because driving and parking in Aix is not always easy. I am still glad we stayed there because it was like stepping into a beautiful oasis at the end of the day when we were tired and hot from sightseeing.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! One of my most memorable stays. We were here in October of 2014. The staff was very helpful to us English speakers. The grounds were beautiful. We took multiple day trips from the hotel. It was a lovely hotel with a perfect location!

This is a quaint, independently run hotel just outside of Aix-en-Provence. The location serves as a good base to explore the surrounding town and there is plentiful car park. Staff are super helpful and you can feel their passion / dedication. Rooms are large, in individual single story blocks, and are generally clean and well kept (though slightly tired). Multiple steps may possibly pose an issue for those who are not so mobile. Would recommend otherwise.

We found this a delightful and accessible oasis. The swimming pool is lovely. The room was quiet, comfortable and well appointed. We were a bit disappointed that complimentary water was not provided daily in the rooms. You’d expect that as a matter of course. The staff were lovely and friendly but there was just a lack of attention to small details such as water and missing items in the breakfast buffet that would make all the difference. Would recommend though.

We had the pleasure of staying here only one night however loved what we saw. We wished we could have stayed longer. We arrived in the evening and were told the restaurant was fully booked, however that was no problem as we were able to order off the room service menu and sit in the patio outside. We've travelled for 5 weeks through UK, France, Italy and Greece. This was one of the best hotels we stayed at. The room was a generous size with a balcony. It was quiet with a very comfortable bed. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Hopefully we get the chance to return.

Mas d'Entremont is a beautiful oasis located outside of Aix. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our stay - from the gorgeous premises and gardens to the comfortable beds to the delicious meals. We found the staff to be incredibly kind, especially Sofiane! Highly recommend.

Ce lieu devait être une très belle adresse avant... nous avons réservé une chambre supérieure pour une nuit, et nous avons été très très déçus par les prestations proposées par rapport à celles annoncées. Un hôtel 4 étoiles aïe aïe aïe... la chambre n'est pas à la hauteur des photos et des prestations annoncés (cf photos), pas de rideau occultant sur la fenêtre sans volet, un tissu/rideau pendu sur une barre, (heureusement la chambre qui ne donnait sur rien à part une micro terrasse sale de 2m2, était très sombre) la porte des toilettes au secours (cf photo) la poussière plein les plaintes, une hygiène parfois douteuse (cf dos de la liste des chaines tv) , des câbles et prises électriques qui passent de partout, des sticks de café lyophilisés et une bouilloire pour le plateau de courtoisie (euh 4 étoiles quand même avec le tarif d'un 4 étoiles). Le chauffage très bruyant. le petit déjeuner égal à un hôtel B&B : A notre arrivée (9h30 le pdj est servi jusqu'à 10h30) , il n'y avait plus de viennoiseries (ok ça peut arriver) , j'ai dû aller en cuisine pour en demander et on nous fait cuire des mini croissants industriels. Il restait 4 pains individuels de qualité moyenne, et surtout absolument rien d'autre qui aurait pu faire sortir cet hôtel de l'ordinaire. Plus d'eau dans la petite machine à café (la même que dans ma cuisine), j'ai du remplir le réservoir. Un garçon de salle, très aimable, est arrivé et s'est soucié de nous l'air ennuyé. Puis nous avons eu la visite d'un chien qui venait lécher le sol, certes très gentil mais bon, le chien au milieu des tables dans la salle où nous étions les seuls Le parc est un atout exceptionnel, mais n'est pas entretenu, quel dommage... Nous ne sommes pas très exigeants non plus, nous voulions nous faire plaisir dans une belle adresse pour se reposer et se retrouver, c'était raté... avec un tarif que je n'ai pas encore digéré...
