De Trafford Arms by Chef & Brewer Collection

Alderley Edge has changed a lot - the quality of this pub has not. As good as ever - staff polite and helpful, breakfast excellent - every bit as good as when I first stayed there in 1975! Only problem is you have to trust people to shut the door of the lift!

The room has clean and tidy with plenty of hanging space. The bed was probably queen size and very comfortable. Everything worked but some thing looked a little tired. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel food was good. The breakfast was amazing. The first morning I manage to eat just over half. The second day I had a much lighter dinner but still was unable to quite complete the breakfast the next morning! The hotel has free parking and plenty of space. There is a lift if you need it for the upper floors. If I was in the area I'd definitely stop there again.

Stayed one one for business at the De Trafford in September 2023. Whilst the bed was big and comfortable, the room was really tired. The wall paper in my room was peeling on places; the lighting was poor and the bathroom needs a total revamp. The carpet also needs changing. The staff at breakfast had clearly had a bad night as he was so grumpy. Will pick another hotel next time.

We stayed here with our friends over Xmas and had a lovely time. We went into the village in the day and chose to eat here in the evening. It’s ideally located and has good parking. The managers and staff were all very friendly, fun and helpful. The food was delicious that evening as was breakfast the next day. One of the managers suggested a very nice walk to look over The Edge after our breakfast which was a great shout and what we all needed to sort us out! We would all definitely recommend this place to others

We wanted a cheap hotel overnight before our flight from Manchester. We arrived at 6pm and I booked the restaurant as it was the highest rated in the area and I know being a Greene King I could use my discount. We were firstly blown away by the food…better than a recent Miller and Carter meal at half the price. The restaurant staff were kind,attentive and friendly. It wasn’t busy,maybe as it’s straight after Christmas. We enjoyed our meal and then retired to bed. Firstly the reviews(some)are unfair. This is an old hotel,I’m told due to be renovated by 2027 but for the price I loved it’s quirkiness. The receptionist (sorry I forgot your name…Saturday January 6th and from Rotherham) was friendly and interested in where we were going. You don’t often get receptionists that want to talk and she was lovely and gave me more tea and sugar. The lift (quirky) i loved it as it was old and I remember lifts like this as a child but they only accommodate 1 person and a suitcase. Fine my partner walked the stairs. The room was old and yes there was a crack in the sink but all the bedding was clean and comfortable. There were toiletries and nice tea/coffee plus biscuits. The shower and bath were great and lovely fluffy towels. Check out was easy and we had a 20 minute commute to the carpark for our trip. I will stay again next time we travel from Manchester and hope to visit the village too as it looked beautiful with the fairy lights and the outside dining…we would eat at The De Trafford Arms though. Well done

Visited Alderley Edge for work. Booked a single room, got a single room. Felt a bit like a student again, but the room was very clean. Old building results in odd shaped rooms. Breakfast was outstanding! Parking and EV charging on site. Would stay again.

man on reception did not tell me i needed to register my car to park in their carpark! I didnt see the notices as it was dark when i arrived. The next day when i queried it was told i would get a ticket... but not to worry phone them and they would pay. Poor service. Room basic and bathroom shabby. The toilet was dirty and yes, i mean dirty, not a nice photo attached. Loud noise all night, presumably from heating but not ideal. Bed was comfy but couldnt have breakfast after 9am as a pre booked breakfast with santa for kids. Wouldnt stay again overall, poor

Really lovely pub. Especially lovely staff! Very nice food and drink. Very comfy bed though bathroom a little tired. Over all a great stay with no complaints.
