Hotel Hermitage Amsterdam

Whatever you do save yourself the money and do not book this hotel its like the faulty towers! Absolutely tiny mould all over the room if you want to pay nearly £500 to get sick then stay here absolutely shocking customer service from the hotel they are greedy and just want your money don't give a sh*t about your stay just want the money avoid at all costs! There are much nicer hotels in Amsterdam wouldn't stay here again if somebody paid me a million quid to do so!! The rooms are the size of a shoe box and if your taller than 6ft good luck sitting on the toilet with the door closed joke of a hotel they should be ashamed I would be if that was my hotel.

I liked the location and honestly didn’t mind the stairs I think it makes it more fun getting up and down. But the bathroom is quite small and caused couple problems there. Other than that it was a great stay! Thank you!

I Had a great stay in this hotel. Easy and near access to the centre of town. A very quiet sourounding. Friendly staff and a clean hotel. I highly recommend hermitage hotel, Amsterdam.

Before you book, please do not book if you can’t walk up stairs! 2 Stars is what is really deserves, the rooms are small, the corridors are very narrow the heat in the room was unbearable. The room was so filthy thankfully they cleaned everyday which is a plus! The ceiling on the room was crumbling it really is not a good look. The positives - good location not to far away from everything & the staff on the reception were always super helpful!

Just back from a stay in Amsterdam. It was our first time to bring the kids so we stayed in the hotel Hermitage. Location was OK but the dirt and rubbish overflowing really let the area down. The hotel itself it only a 2 star standard a typical house in Amsterdam, narrow stairways etc. The room had 4 beds and a toilet. The heat in the room was cruel . There was a fan but it only blew the warm air around. We opened the window and I was eaten alive by mosquitoes. Breakfast was not included in the price although you pay but the selection was limited. Would I stay here again? No , there are fair better hotels to choose from in Amsterdam.

The hotel is in a good location opposite the Hermitage Museum. You have free access to the gardens and coffee shop in the garden, which was lovely as we had sunny weather. We were able to walk to the flower market and plenty of bars and restaurants. You are just a 5 minute walk away from the metro, 2 stops from Central Station. The tram was a longer walk because renovations were being carried out on the bridge. We, 3 friends had the triple room on the second floor overlooking the canal and Museum. It was just a base for us, to explore the Museums, it was clean and reasonably spacious. The shower room was a bit snug but no problem for us. I would recommend this hotel if you don't have mobility problems, there is no lift and with all 16th century properties in Amsterdam the staircase is steep and quite narrow. All in all, for us it was perfect, we would stay here again.

Walls paper thin; if you have noisy neighbours you'll know about it. Otherwise, great. Decor a bit tired but who cares.

Besides the very thin walls (meaning, I can hear the 'pleasant' noises from the neighbors across the hall when at a low decibel) and the super narrow stairs, I enjoyed my stay. I came back for a second time a week later- but I will say, it is overpriced. Didn't have the food there, but the receptionist staff (2:3) were super helpful!!! The bridge was closed to traffic so you did have to go around or from the Amstel bridge. Narrow rooms and very narrow bathroom (for a country with the tallest people, not sure why our legs have to be in the bedroom when going to the bathroom). The location can't be beat!
