Go stay in town. You will definitely have a better stay in Angra.
Their "finest suite" (as the manager stated more than once) had not been properly cleaned in a long while.
There was considerable odor from the mold on the walls in the Master bedroom - black, red, and while mold.
There was a 5cm dead cockroach, hundreds of dead gnats, and paint chips on the floor and baseboards.
There is no beach at this location.
There is no gym at this location.
The employees use the very small parking facility, and park closest to the door.
I had to sweep the bird droppings off the patio myself.
The dining employees are nice, but one time we were told we had to pay cash, couldn't charge to the room, and of course the "credit card machine is broken."
Our TAP Flight was rescheduled to the following day due to a plane running off the runway in Lisbon.
We could not use our pre-paid first night at the hotel, and The Hotel would not issue a refund on the first night .
We lost $263 because the hotel said that they could not refund our card because TRIP.com used a virtual credit card to pay for the room.
I do not recommend this hotel or booking through TRIP.com, and we will never use either of them again.

I need to give a huge Thanks to Sebastian, Carla, Anna at the hotel! They made our stay here easy, comfortable and enjoyable! Sebastian provided us with excellent recommendations ..for example Rocha Restaurant..delicious and great local atmosphere overlooking the sea. We had a memorable day exploring the island due to Sebastian’s recommendations! The location is great as it’s sits overlooking the sea and close distance to the picturesque city.. I can’t say enough about the people.. so kind, friendly and welcoming.. Thank you! Yes, we would come again!

The breakfast was great,we had no fault with this. Very acomadating for dietary needs. The indoor pool is great, clean and relaxing space, the underground parking was a good bonus for us with a rental car and a great location near the city centre. The negatives we experienced however were not great at all. We had a huge leak from the toilet which flooded the bathroom and come into our room up to the bed at 4am, they turned off the water to the toilet and left us with no working toilet. Or shower. No help was offered to clean up the water in the early hours and was left until the morning. We changed rooms and no help was offered to move our belonging to the other room on a different floor. The new room had a hole in the ceiling of the bathroom and had to be repaired. The shower was leaking, we had mold in the shower and rust on the toilet. The walls had mold damage on also. This is things we definitely did not expect from a 4* hotel. It is very outdated and needs lots of work to it to be a 4* again.

This is a lovely hotel, in a quiet area, but very easily walkable to the center if town, and all the activities. The staff was wonderful.

I must say we had an unfortunate check-in experience. We were only staying for 1 night. We arrived at 10am and were leaving around 5:30am the next morning. We had 1 free breakfast included with our stay, and because we were leaving the following day before the breakfast would even open, we asked if we could have breakfast on the day we arrived. We were told that that's "against the rules". After much arguing back and forth, they eventually let us have our breakfast. We had to insist to speak with a manager over what was clearly common sense. There was plenty of food left and the dining hall was not full of people. It was an unnecessary way to start off the stay. The hotel room itself was lovely, beautiful view, very comfortable beds, the sheets smelled amazing, clean & spacious bathroom, gorgeous pool. All of the other staff were incredibly friendly and they helped us call a taxi to the airport the next morning. They are able to store your luggage if you arrive before check-in, which we appreciated. Easy walking distance from town and a small grocery store right across the street. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, but I don't understand why they made such a fuss about the breakfast day.

The rooms could use some updating and the facade is rusting a badly needs painting.
Breakfast was good and the dinner buffet was average (although there seemed to be no end to the waiters refilling our wine glasses).
The swimming was very good, both the pool and the ocean. Free parking, which was good since it is a long walk to the down town.
The staff at the desk were exceptional in every way.

Beautiful views pool was great. Also close to natural swimming area. The patio on our room was a little rusty. Service was excellent and staff was very professional. Room was very clean

The good: The hotel is less than 1 km from the historic center of Angra do Heroismo but has the bus stop to the center right in front ( the cost for one way ticket is 0,35 Euros) , buses come every 15 min. , the ride is about 10 min. It is right next to the public beach "Zona balnear da Silveira"and overlooks the sea Excellent service (front desk, restaurant, spa etc) Has one outdoor and one indoor swimming pools. The bad: Facilities need a serious uplifting : it is generally clean but has the feel of the 80'. The outdoor swimming pool is filthy: even my kids didn't want to go in : bird poop at the rim, hairs and other debris floating in the water, mirky water etc. The one indoor is very clean , maybe because no-one use it? We ate at the buffet two straight nights and on the second night, you can see that left over from the night before was used ex : night #1 had a delicious sword fish dish and on the second night, we had fish pasta... exactly same appetizers for both nights etc... Overall, it was OK for our stop over on our returning trip... but I would stay elsewhere if I was to visit Terceira.
