This is going to be a bit polarising given the other reviews on this platform, but my husband and I would not define this as a "luxury" resort. We actually came across a lot of issues while visiting. Our room was not immaculately clean (visible hairs around the room & fingerprints on glass), no one ever came to fill the minibar/towels (and it was impossible to get ahold of staff (both through the app, calls, and facebook as recommended), but most importantly, the management team is grossly incapable of taking criticism or solving simple problems. Our first issue came within 15 minutes of arriving. You are asked to download the app where you can make all of your dinner reservations and see the entertainment each night. We did this directly in front of the woman who was walking us through the resort functions and informed her it looked like we wouldn't be able to eat at any of the restaurants while we were there because they were all booked up. She suggested, "we have a great buffet." Obviously, food is a main reason for visiting a luxury resort so a buffet wasn't what we were looking for every morning/day/night (plus, Covid...). I was visibly upset that we'd be eating at a buffet for our entire trip so she "pulled some strings" to get us reservations at the restaurants. All of the reservations were very early, while the sun was still out, which wasn't ideal so be warned-- I guess sometimes you go and have to eat at the buffet the whole time. Second, our room was a swim up by the main pool. We are not super young so the late entertainment/lights right outside our window, and very early music were a bit of a hindrance on our relaxation. We had to switch rooms on day two. The second room was cleaner, to be fair. Third, service. Now it must be stated the staff are absolutely tremendous-- but they are understaffed and overworked. They don't speak highly of management (who apparently take any tips written on a credit card receipt, this does not go to the person who served you. The bartender scratched out the tip we'd left since he said he wouldn't get it. So, bring cash to tip the hard workers!). Drinks would take (on average) 30 minutes at the bars. At the restaurants you'd often get your food before the drink. Fourth, the drinks! At an all inclusive that boasts "premium liquor" you can't even get a vodka soda with a name brand vodka-- it's well liquor or you have to pay more. In fact, you are asked to pay a lot at this "all inclusive": smoothie? Pay for it. Nice wine? Pay for it. Extra sushi roll at the restaurant? You guessed it. Pay for it. Fifth, management. I feel like this specifically has to be called out because, when we sent them a message explaining our experience and how disappointed we were with the quality of the room/stay/extra charges/understaffed outlets they threatened legal action if we posted our review online. Perhaps this is why you don't see a ton of bad reviews-- the bullying nature of management. In fact, our last night,
