We have spent three days with my wife. The hotel is really beautiful: an old castle, which is super charming. We could not take advantage of the swimming pool and the tennis court because is was still to early in the season. The surroundings with the tufs waterfalls at walking distance, the lovely villages and the multiple caves within 30-60 minutes driving made our staying really remarkable. ... and the food! The restaurant is really great!

Gorgeous old building steeped in history deep in the Jura countryside. The rooms are comfortable without being particularly special but that didn’t really matter. Nice modern bathroom with a great shower. The standout attraction, other than the setting, was undoubtedly the truly world class restaurant. The full menu is great value although more than one might normally pay, but it provides an unforgettable experience. Lots of little extras, and a series of dishes created with imagination and skill. I can’t wait to return!

Beautiful hotel, our room was a little dated decor wise. We were expecting a much nicer room as per the photos on your website. Our room wasn’t even shown. The staff were friendly and efficient and the restaurant service and food was absolutely amazing.

What a complete delight this hotel and restaurant is. Great food, lovely rooms and breathtaking setting/location. Wonderful friendly service too. It was a memorable experience to stay here and I will hope to return soon

Great location, very calm and green, the property itself is beautiful, staff was very helpful and friendly, restaurant is top notch, the building itself is amazing, unfortunately there is a serious lack of maintenance which is visible every where, the rooms in the tower were very basic, we were upgraded to a suite in the main building which was very nice but still the hotel needs a lot of work all around. Also the pictures online make the hotel look more luxurious than it really is. In my opinion the hotel is a 3 star and not a 4 star. I truly hope the owners will work to improve the property as it could really be amazing.

A great off the beaten path hotel that is very unique. Highly recommend for the location, cost and luxury. Well kept rooms and the food was delicious!

Arriving at Castel Damandre is like entering a fairy tale. On a narrow road following a river, through small villages, at the end of a blind valley (reculée), beside a waterfall, the turreted hotel awaits your arrival. The staff are generous and easy going, insisting that breakfast should be at your leisure, that dinner can be arranged at their fabulous on site restaurant anytime during their opening hours. The interior has a rustic feel with fireplaces that I can imagine would feel cozy come winter. In the summer, on a particularly hot day, the pool was a wonderful refuge in the late afternoon after a day spent hiking. The restaurant in particular deserves highlighting. Excellent wine list with a knowledgable sommelier who is happy to pair with your dinner selections and steer you toward the region's local wine stars.

Our second visit to this unique hotel in a delightfully attractive rural setting. Our room, in the principal building was elegant and functional. The dinners were varied, refined and delicious. The staff welcoming and helpful.

When we got there, the hotel didn’t recognize the booking we made through ***********. After several hours on the phone with *********** we decided to go to another hotel. Would not risk booking a room in this hotel as i’ve also read that others have experienced the same. Unfriendly staff that was not veru solution oriented. We went there by bike and had to cycle to the next town after several hours of waiting
