Casa Andina Select Arequipa Plaza

The hotel is located right on the main plaza ( Plaza de Armes) so it is incredibly easy and safe as a single female traveller. You can walk to many of the main attractions, have a wide range of restaurants to choose from and can easily find water/ ATMs as all within a 2 minute walk. Room was spacious and spotless with a comfortable bed and lovely toiletries available.staff were always friendly and helpful. There is a small gym on site, pool is small ( but unheated!) but on a lovely roof terrace. If I was in Arequipa again I would happily stay, but equally I would look for the chain in other South American cities.

In the perfect location for visiting Arequipa. Beds are comfortable, rooms very nice and spacious. Breakfast and lunch buffets are good. Has all you need! The staff are really friendly and helpful. Thank you to Angel for the service! The top floor has a lovely seating area you can see Mt Misti from and also catch sight of Andean birds flying above!

I spent a 3-day weekend here, the place is very nice, the service is exceptional, everyone is kind, polite, and eager to help and make you feel welcome. I want to mention Vanessa, Angel and Roberto for their awesome service and welcoming attitudes. I would also like to recognize the restaurant staff, unfortunately I don’t have their names but everyone there was very helpful and polite. The location couldn’t get any better, anything you may need as well as many touristic places are close by and at a walking distance. Last, but certainly not least, the view of the plaza and the Cathedral from the restaurant is incredible morning, noon and night. Highly recommended!!!

Had the opportunity to stay here while on a tour of Peru, and we enjoyed the brief time. The rooms are compact, however clean, comfortable, and with nice amenities. The breakfast buffet was average, nothing extraordinary, however fit the need. Wotjin walking distance of some enjoyable restaurants and felt safe walking around as a couple and individually. As with many hotels in Peru 🇵🇪, speaking Spanish is a plus. However, your smartphone translator comes in handy.

The best hotel in Arequipa, no doubt!!!! I thank you for all the attention provided by the manager and all his staff at Casa Andina Select, I really had a great stay there!!!. Thanks Melchor Delgado for being a great person and an excellent professional tour guide, I learnt a lot in a short time!!! Thanks AREQUIPA. I'll be back!

Family of four (50, 49, 16 and 14 YO) stayed 12/29/23 - 1/4/24 The location is perfect! Directly on Plaza de Armas, adjacent to the cathedral, the hotel has a view of the plaza from the fifth-floor balcony and the second-floor restaurant. We had one room on the fifth floor and one on the third. The rooms were nice, comfortable, and very clean. We looked at the Casa Andina Premium - the building certainly looked nicer but the location is not nearly as good. The location was too good to pass up. Food at the hotel's restaurant (LaPlaza) was great. Excellent breakfast which was included with the stay, and we ate dinner there twice. So nice eating outside on the patio with a view of the Plaza. I would have given it five stars except for two negative experiences: One - we arranged a shuttle from the airport with the hotel (Ashley Guzman contact), in advance that never showed up. I confirmed with the hotel the day before our travel. It turned out to be relatively easy to order an Uber while at the airport, but by that time we had already waited 45min. When traveling on family trips to new cities I like to order a shuttle ahead of time. I don't feel like waiting and/or negotiating with taxi services with a big family after a long flight, and Uber tends to be spotty in smaller foreign cities. I tried calling and emailing the hotel while waiting for the ride but couldn't get through and they didn't respond to emails. For some reason Uber drivers in Arequipa cancel trips often, i had three cancel at the airport before one finally accepted. Two - I made dinner reservations through the hotel at Alma (Casa Andina Premium restaurant) for New Years Eve two weeks in advance. I confirmed multiple times (Paolo Rodriguez contact), including the day we checked in, 12/29, as I was concerned about not having reservations for New Year's eve. When the time came we got dressed up, walked over to Casa Andina Premium and of course, they had no record of our reservation and couldn't accommodate us. It was quite frustrating since it was New Year's and we had no backup plan. However, putting the experiences into the context of our broader experience in Arequipa it is not surprising. Arequipa is not as tourist-friendly as Lima, which is what attracted us to it in the first place, and reservations just don't seem to be common in the city.
