The Charles Bathurst Inn

Had birthday dinner here with our son. Meal was good but clearly understaffed and mistakes made as a result. We were expecting excellent service but drinks order was forgotten, menu items muddled up etc .... not the service we've been used to on other occasions

To celebrate our daughter and son in law's 25th wedding anniversary, we had a great meal here with them and his parents. Then, when we had finished, our daughter and son in law returned to their holiday cottage, leaving us 4 parents to stay bed and breakfast. Super friendly and helpful host, a very warm and welcoming place. We all had a fabulous evening meal, cooked to perfection, beautifully presented by lovely staff. A few good drinks, including good choice of zero alcohol beers and ciders. Absolutely 5 star meal, enjoyed by all of us. Very comfortable rooms, good beds and bathroom, and all spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delightful. Big choice of cereals, toast, jams,and fruit. Fresh orange juice, and absolutely excellent coffee. Breakfast food was up to the same very high standard as our evening meal. My wife chose salmon and scrambled eggs, a huge portion and reported as superb. The rest of us enjoyed our full English. Beautifully presented and cooked, with local Cumberland sausage, thick cut bacon with all the usual extras, of the finest quality. Our meals and our overnight stay here all added to the enjoyable special occasion. Visit this lovely place, or even just have a meal, you will love the whole experience as much as we all did.

stayed in room 17 for a night for birthday treat wow , from arriving to leaving everything was faultless service was second to none and evening meal was best we have had for a long time breakfast was also superb with quality produce highly recommended if your in the area Also some great walks on it's doorstep

Stopped here for dinner. The place was full and we did not reserve but the nice lady let us have a small table to order food after we had been out walking all day. The menu had a good amount of choice. I have a dairy intolerance and the nice waiter went to the kitchen to ask what was suitable for me. My meal was delicious, quite pricey but worth it. My friend also said their meal was fabulous. Overall I would totally recommend and will come again. Nice place inside too. Free WiFi is a plus too. Thank you.

The CB Inn is brilliantly situated for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the fact that it is a marvellous place to stay just 'seals the deal'! It's not our first stay but I think it's the best so far. The rooms we had (we were a party of 2 couples) were superb, comfy, warm (still a nip in the air in April) with plenty of hot water and big towels! The food was superb. The breakfast menu was extensive with locally sourced ingredients. The dinners were even better with a wide range of meals to suit all palettes. The chef is talented and the service was good, no mistakes and prompt - what's not to like? It is also important to say that all the team were incredibly friendly and when your chambermaid smiles and wishes you good morning, it starts the day well. We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to returning in the summer.

Our room (11) was large and comfortable with fantastic views on two sides, bed was huge and designed for a wonderful nights sleep. Everything provided you could want. Fresh milk in the fridge in the corridor , great to see them reducing plastic use! Lovely evening meal, huge starters but did manage to squeeze amazing main courses in as well! Breakfast kippers not to be missed!
