Excellent hotel! Not very big area, but very clean. Spacious rooms, good breakfast. My recommendations!

We absolutely loved this charming hotel. The grounds are lush and create a sense of privacy and seclusion although it is only a 10 minute walk to the main area. The staff are friendly and helpful. Each room has a large balcony with a hammock. The pool area is relaxing. We did a couples massage. We also enjoyed the sauna and steam room. This hotel was the highlight of our family trip to Brazil.

This boutique hotel is set back from the main part of the resort however it is within a 15 minute walk of the main area and the waterfront. The reception staff are professional and friendly. Our room was a good size well appointed with good facilities including hairdryer and safe. Bathroom was modern with a large shower. Balconies are excellent, large, decent furnishings including a hammock. Pool area is set within the large tropical garden. The buffet breakfast is served in the small bar area next to the pool. The hotel has a sauna again set in the gardens as well as a wellness area where you can enjoy a massage which is one of the treatments offered by the hotel Spa staff. This hotel is a great choice for any stay in Buzios we would happily return to it.

The hotel is really great. The room was beautiful, and the view even better. The location is also great, near from the beach and city center, restaurants. The breakfast was good. I did a massage that was amazing. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great hotel, peaceful, well located, 15 min walking from Rua das Pedras. The staff are excellent at this hotel and really made our stay special. All of them deserve credit but we had specific great interactions and service from Priscilla and the young lady that works in the bar at the reception. They were always super friendly with their interactions, and really went the extra mile when it came to special requests and personalised services. The breakfast was great, varied and designed to mimic home cooked grandma style breakfast which made every day start that bit better. We can’t recommend the hotel enough, we even visited during the busiest week of the year and the hotel still managed to be a tranquil setting to relax against the super busy buzios during the new year break.

This hotel was amazing and did not have one fault. Everything they offered was to the point and lot of guidance when it came to what beaches and restaurants to visit. All the staff were helpful and they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We were booked for 4 nights but then extended by further 2 nights.

Beautiful hotel set in a tropical paradise within 10 minute walk of centro Buzios where there are restaurants and shops galore. Rooms are clean, spacious and nicely furnished. We couldn’t quite see the sea from our balcony but it was a pleasant view. Breakfast is fantastic. Plenty to choose from and the only hotel we have stayed at during our tour of Rio de Janeiro that cooked eggs to order. The omelette is delicious. Lastly, all of the staff are so incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend staying at The Portobay Hotel.

Great location not too far from the centre. Perfect for peace and quiet. The rooms were IMMACULATE. Spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and were more than happy to help. Reception staff helped us to book trips in Buzios and Arraial do Cabo. The pool area was also stunning.
