Graduate by Hilton Auburn Al

Recently opened. It is a real eye opener. Colour smacks you between the eyes the moment you hit the lobby. The rooms are the same. Really interesting pictures, furnishings, and very stylish things like kettles and phones. The guy who was on the desk during our three day stay was exemplary…warm, efficient, engaged and helpful. Hilton should realise people are so tired of browns, greys, black colours in rooms….the vibrancy here is wonderful. Downsides? As is becoming the norm now for Hilton…valet parking @ $25 a night…shame on them. One side of the hotel is on Wright St, which faces a very lively bar with music until 2am, so avoid that side of the hotel.

Whoever designed these hotel rooms chose an aesthetic over practicality and function - three light switches in the bath, but no exhaust fan! Tiny shelf in the shower wasn’t big enough to hold the full-size products provided. Uncomfortable sitting chair with no arms (in a huge oversized king). Not a single bureau drawer in room, and weird little fabric covered closet. The best thing was the fab terrace bar on the top floor and location. I’m usually very pleased with Graduate properties, but this will be a one and done for me.

We stayed here during evacuation. The hotel has only been open a month and is bright new and clean. At check in our room wasn’t ready there were several folks in the lobby waiting to check in. I ask the young man if they had something I could go ahead and check into. The young man at the front desk obliged and we went to our room. I had ask about waving pet fees due to the evacuation, they did not. First time in many years of dealing with hurricanes this happened. Valet is cashless and not charged to your room. Took me a while to learn to use the text system. Overall experience was good but not worth the $$$$.

Stayed for 3 nights lovely hotel - staff could not be more helpful Phillip from the War Eagles Restaurant helped me get milk late night and could not do enough to make our visit special. The sunset views from the rooftop bar were lovely cocktails and food also excellent- highly recommend.

The valet service was exceptional,. They even transported my sons golf clubs to another vehicle for me. Jamie was friendly and informative. The front desk was exceptional and my entire first impression of the hotel could not have been better!
