FLEAS all over the carpet of my room. I woke up after my first night staying here and noticed a black bug on my ankle I didn't recognize. I brushed it off and went on with my day and went to work at my office. A few hours into work, I started to get a little itchy and found 4 welts in a row on my stomach and was deeply concerned. I called the hotel that night to ask them to check for bed bugs in which they told me they would not be able to check until the next day. The next day I woke up and started seeing little black bugs ALL over my feet and ankles and started developing itchy bites all over. I immediately took a shower and scrubbed the affected areas, and as soon as I stepped out onto the carpet, I saw a bug again climbing up my ankle indicating they were living on the carpet. My friend staying also found bites on his ankle. I went to the front desk and insisted on a room change and notified them of what we experienced. They asked if I had any pictures of the bugs (these are fleas that jump and move rapidly - this was an impossible task), but I did offer to show them my bites. After much hesitancy, they switched our rooms. At this point, I had roughly 40+ bites on my body - mainly feet and ankles and was miserable. It's been 3+ weeks and I now have to go to a dermatologist to get the scabs resolved as they are not healing effectively. When calling Marriott to discuss, corporate closed the case multiple times and told us the general manager of this hotel is refusing to assist with compensation. They inspected the room 2+ weeks later and didn't find anything. They also claimed it was ACL weekend and that we got the bites there which is impossible since I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights before going anywhere near ACL and got majority of my bites in those 2 nights. Not to mention, there were dogs staying in this hotel that I saw during my stay - they could have easily brought them in. I added some photos just to show what it looks like to stay at this AWFUL hotel. We are several Titanium Elite status members - we like Marriott clearly and stay with them often but this particular situation combined with how unwilling they are to work with us is causing us to re-evaluate.
