Le Clos D 'Ay

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed everything about the Hotel. The hosts were very helpful and the room was immaculate. Would definitely recommend it. The breakfast was ample and the hotel was in a lovely location in Ay. The room was very quiet and we enjoyed the extra space in the suite.

A lovely property, charming house with character, with modern bathrooms, a very helpful host and a pleasant breakfast. Parking in the courtyard of the property could be tricky when fully occupied. The main problem with the room was the temperature. Despite a dyson air purifier the room was very hot and the purifier ineffective, overnight the room cooled but remained hot. This was a real issue for sleeping in what was otherwise a delightful property with a great host. Stay was in May and the outside temperature was 90 degrees. There’s a strict no food in the room rule which was fine with us.

The bedroom and bathroom were beautiful and huge. I’d go as far as to say magnificent! Breakfast was very nice too, served in a lovely panelled room. In better weather you can eat in the garden I think. The owners are lovely - they don’t speak English but were very patient with my terrible French and helped me book ‘degustations’. Ay is a rather lovely place brimming with exclusive champagne ‘maisons’ if you wander, although dining is extremely limited so book ahead.

Spent a couple of nights here on the way back to the UK. Super comfortable room, more like a suite. Large bedroom, sitting room and super modern shower room. Very comfortable bed plus lovely pillows. Delicious breakfast, fruit, yogurt, ham, fresh bread and home made jam. 4 rooms and safe parking for 4 cars behind large wooden gates. Super situated in Ay for champagne houses and restaurants. Valerie and Dominique are super hosts

Excellent stay, cannot recommend it enough. Beautiful and very comfortable room with traditional decor, large modern bathroom with great shower. Very welcoming and friendly hosts with lots of information about the area and the champagne houses. Only one small improvement I would suggest. To have a small bar or a way to buy a drink (champagne, beer, cider, wine etc) and sit in the garden to drink and enjoy it after the day spent visiting the champagne houses or when you return after dinner.

Lovely B&B. Quite expensive but well worth it. Lovely safe secure parking. Pretty garden. Double bed not huge by today's standards but OK. Really good breakfast and a charming concierge who greeted us. The fridge in our room was brilliant.

This is a beautiful hotel set in an old mansion. The rooms are spacious, lovely, and comfortable, and the owners are so welcoming, funny, and kind, even helping us to store our bikes. We absolutely loved our stay, and thank them for a delightful time! We’ll certainly return!

Schönes kleines familiengeführtes Hotel. Sehr liebe Gastgeber und ein schönes französisches Frühstück. Was will man mehr. Die Zimmer sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Kaffeemaschine und Wasserkocher auf dem Zimmer. Modernes gut ausgestattetes Bad. Sehr sehr sauber und ordentlich. Fußläufig befindet sich eine kleine Weinbar sowie eine Patisserie. Lediglich nach Epernay ist ein Auto nötig. Das sollte für abends berücksichtigt werden. Mit ABC Taxi kommt man aber super von A nach B (englischsprachige Fahrer und Zentrale).

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour chez nos hôtes Dominique et Valérie qui se mettent en quatre pour vous mettre à l'aise dans leur magnifique maison de maître. Les chambres sont spacieuses, d'une propreté impeccable, literie confortable, salle de bains moderne. Il faut espérer que tous leurs invités en prendront grand soin, car on devine chez nos hôtes une grande attention au détail, et le désir de s'assurer le bien-être de leur clients . Le petit déjeuner, très complet, se prend dans une belle salle, au calme, et rien ne manque. Parking sécurisé dans une cour intérieure, vélos à l'abri si besoin dans une petite dépendance. Nous reviendrons très certainement.
