During our recent weekend in Baden-Baden, my wife and I wined and dined at a variety of places. Somehow, we always ended up back at this hotel bar, which was empty except for us. We were invited to come inside by Ingolf, who pretty much was the doorman, front desk clerk, bar tender, and a great individual to go to to for advice. His English was excellent; his professionalism unsurpassed. We typically ordered Chardonnay, but one night he made me a local drink called the Red Mill made with orange juice, red wine, and grain alcohol. It was quite strong and tasty. We would not have come back the second night, bit we enjoyed spending time with him as he went to and fro helping others at the hotel. Maybe, next time, my wife and I will stay here.
