I booked this hotel for digital detox getaway from the city life. I am very pleased with the experience. I will start from check in where the staff politely greeted us, got us upgraded to lake view room and introduced us all the surrounding area of the hotel. They also assigned a colleague named Carina. She was very attentive and helpful, always helping us arrange things on time and even arranged gifts for us during the stay. The room reservation also came with photoshoot session at the hotel and we got 5 free photos. There are many beautiful photo taking areas which makes it suitable for those looking to take beautiful pictures. One of the best hotel experience I have encountered so far across different hotel brands in China.

The InterContinental Dongguan is an outstanding luxury hotel that sets a new standard for hospitality in the city. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the elegant Lingnan style design and impeccable service. Room & Amenities The room was beautifully appointed and thoughtfully laid out, offering both comfort and functionality. A standout feature was the separate toilet and bath, which added a touch of sophistication and convenience. The modern furnishings, high-quality bedding, and spacious layout made for a truly relaxing stay. Location The hotel is situated in one of Dongguan’s most vibrant districts, surrounded by bustling energy and endless entertainment options. Adjacent to the property is a massive shopping mall, providing guests with easy access to retail, dining, and leisure activities. Executive Lounge Experience Though located on a lower floor, the Executive Lounge is a true gem. The selection of delicacies was exceptional, with a variety of gourmet bites and premium beverages. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the warm and attentive service—special thanks to Steven and Freya, who went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. Their professionalism and genuine hospitality made every visit to the lounge delightful. Overall Impression Without a doubt, the InterContinental Dongguan stands as the best hotel in the city. Its combination of modern luxury, prime location, and outstanding service—especially from staff like Steven and Freya—makes it a top recommendation for both business and leisure travelers. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

The room I booked was an executive suite. It was large. It had two large rooms, a large bathroom and a walk in closet and a separate toilet. The decor is a little dated. But this did not make it feel any less grand. The previous hotel was more modern but this room is grander in scale. the bedroom had a panoramic view of the city. We were on the 15th floor. The elevator was fast and would get you from 1 to 15 in 20 seconds. The bathtub could be enjoyed in the dark with the blinds lifted something I took advantage of each day. The toilets are not smart which I got used to in my previous hotel. But they did the job. The shower had good water pressure, the rainfall shower was installed into the ceiling and it had great intensity. The shampo, conditioner and gel were great and the toothpaste was Colgate. There were some amenities listed but we're not available during our stay such as the executive lounges and bars, but the staff explained all the benefits could be enjoyed in the dining hall. There is a onsite pool, gym and sauna on the 5th floor along with a spa. I did not get to try the pool as I had no swim wear. But you could rent if you wanted. The buffet breakfast and dinner was all very good with a lot of options. The freshly cooked noodle and grill station were amazing. I would recommend arriving when it starts or an hour into service as sometimes they begin to pack up before the service is closed. Drinks were unlimited and so was the self serve gelato, which I frequented The room was non-smoking and free from smells as requested which is a plus and I am thankful for, as this could ruin the experience for me and my pregnant partner. The staff were all very welcoming and would greet us every day. Amenities and towels were replenished The interior of the hall was grand the dining hall was decorated, high ceilings and lots of lights secured behind a safety net. Dongguan I did not get to see much of. But it's a city that is in the midst of development with new metros being planned and in the midst of being built. I am excited to see how it changes. Our stay was short but it is indeed one of our most memorable hotels. One due to the size and grandeur of the room and the second was the service provided.

It was an Ordinary stay ! But service is good ! 1. Location : Though it’s called dongguan south high speed station , it’s around 20-25 mins ( 6-7 km ) far from the station. It looks an odd place 2. Room design. One of the poorest room design I came across . Room number signs are totally confusing. Inside the room , toilet, shower room placement and wash basin placement is totally impractical. Added mirror light , but it’s very very dull and not solving purposes. 3. Breakfast ; Below average ! No coffee even 4. They tried to add modern techniques to the room like automatic curtains, but failed to understand the actual purpose of the room.

A pretty good stay though the trip.com booking was a bit misleading. It mentioned two sessions at the wellness centre were in the package, but the hotel said the spa visit wasn’t included and we had to pay for that.

The location and service are good, but the facilities are old. The refrigerator in the room was broken and wouldn't turn on. The breakfast menu also seems to have fewer items compared to before.

I booked a deluxe room for one single bed and at upper storey room (18-23 floor) and requested for non corner room. When I checked in, the hotel gave slower storey room of 17/F, two beds and corner room, which was totally out of the room fee I paid for. After argument, the hotel finally allocated 19/F room with one single bed, but still at the corner room. For the past two years, I have stayed in this hotel for numerous nights, how could the hotel to treat the loyalties client in this way, very disappointed.

We are very satisfied with the hotel when it comes to what we got for the price. It was a very cheap stay, and in general the hotel satisfied our needs and expectations. The hotel's location is good and convenient for taking a taxi to train stations and other places in Dongguan. Service is very good. All the staff we met had a great attitude and answered all our questions patiently. The rooms and restaurand were a bit out-dated, and the rooms had a slight smell of smoke. But it was clean and spacious. The pool was not usable, as the water was dirty and seemed not to have been cleaned in a long time.
