If I could give zero stars, I would. I’ve traveled quite a bit, but I’ve never encountered such appalling service in a so-called “luxury” hotel. The lack of respect, punctuality, and general arrogance from the staff was astonishing. As someone who is usually shy and avoids confrontation, even I felt compelled to speak up. We stayed for six nights with family, including two sick individuals with diabetes and heart problems. Here are just a few of the many issues we encountered: 1. Housekeeping: Sheets were not changed during our stay, and it was clear there were not enough staff to maintain the hotel properly. 2. Laundry Service: We requested our laundry be picked up, but it took three requests and two days for them to finally do it. 3. Room Hygiene: There was a huge bug in the room that scared my mother, who has diabetes. I informed the reception and asked them to handle it while we were out, but when we returned hours later, nothing had been done. My mother ended up killing the bug herself and, when I brought it to reception in a towel, I was told to take it back to the room for the cleaner to dispose of it. Not even an apology. 4. Room Condition: The walls were peeling, and my younger sibling even found bits of wallpaper on her bed. This is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that claims to be luxury. 5. Elevator Issues: The elevator was out of order for two days, and we had to wait up to 20 minutes for the lift. Guests on middle floors or in the lobby had it even worse as the elevator was often full. 6. Language Barrier: The reception staff didn’t speak English, Turkish, or Arabic, which are common languages among tourists in Batumi. It’s inexcusable for a hotel in a tourist area not to have staff who can communicate with their guests. 7. Understaffed: The hotel had only one cleaner per floor despite the large number of rooms. This is clearly inadequate and affects the quality of service. 8. Birthday Surprise Gone Wrong: I asked for a cake to be brought to my aunt’s room at 11:50 PM for her 55th birthday. They brought it at 12:04 AM, ruining the surprise. When I went to complain, the staff member gave me a forced apology with a bad attitude. 9. Safety Concerns: The bathroom floors were extremely slippery, and they didn’t provide floor towels. My elderly mother, who is already in fragile health, slipped and hit her head. Had something serious happened, this review would be the least of their worries. 10. Breakfast Service: While the food was decent, the waiters were not. They refused to bring a jug of water, forcing us to carry eight cups back to the table so my family could take their medicine. They also tried to clear our plates while we were still eating. Extremely rude. 11. Overall Disrespect: I always treat others with respect, but I don’t understand why we were treated so poorly. I’m not asking for special treatment, just basic courtesy and sincerity. The staff desperately need proper training. F
