We stayed for one night and arrived at a very busy Sunday afternoon. We decided to explore the area for lunch instead as queue for bar was too long. Our room was at top of the hotel with some heavy going stairs! Room was large, quirky and comfortable but bath took so long to drain away. Food in restaurant in evening was good, staff friendly and efficient. The best thing about this hotel is the location.

Had a wonderful few days at The Master Builder's. From start to finish the staff were great, chatty, friendly, funny, just what good hotel staff should be. A knock-out room overlooking the harbour, extremely comfortable bed. What's not to like? And the unexpected arrival of several vintage Delage cars was a real bonus!

First time we've stayed and this location is exactly as charming as it looks in the pictures. As others have mentioned the rooms are quite small but why would anyone spend anything other than the minimum time in them with what's in the vicinity? Everything was spotlessly clean, Nicki on reception is a star and the breakfast was superb, even more so with that view.

Dad had was dreading his impending 60th birthday so we (his three sons) took him away for a birthday weekend treat at the Master Builders Hotel. We had read it had a fantastic restaurant and excellent disabled facilities, just perfect for our Dad. We were met by our waitress, the lovely Kursty (as Dad called her) whose winning smile and charming ways immediately put our old boy at ease. We all had crab for starter, delicious Venison for main followed by the most incredible cheeseboard, all washed down with the finest wines. Dad decided he would prefer bitter (he remarked he doesn’t care for ‘foreign muck’) was Kursty was so obliging, even ferrying his pint to the table from the next door pub. Kursty was the most fabulous and unflappable host. Shortly after arrival, Dad had an unfortunate accident which she attended to with the minimum fuss whilst we repaired to the bathroom to clean Dad up. Bravo Kursty! Such a brilliant evening. We hope to return when Dad hits 70.

Excellent service, the staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was top notch with good ingredients and plenty of choice. Beautiful location with lovely views of the river. Worth walking to Beaulieu village. Would definitely go again as an excellent location for the new forest.

Quite honestly one of the loveliest stays I have ever had in this country. The hotel is magnificently located on the Beaulieu river with incredible views and walks plus access to Bucklers Hard village is just through a door! So convenient for walks on the open forest, bringing our dogs (who were made to feel most welcome with beds, water bowl and treats) made it the best break for all of us. The restaurant was equally fantastic as were the staff especially Nikki who went out of her way to contact me immediately to inform me I had left a couple of items in the room and helped to arrange safe despatch and arrival of them back home to us. I couldn't recommend it more highly and most certainly will be returning soon.

My wife and I had an excellent two night break package which included a visit to Beaulieu Motor Museum and allowance towards our evening meals. We stayed in the Henry Adam’s building and the double bedroom was lovely and comfortable and had plenty of space. We ate in Henry’s Bar on both evenings and the food was excellent and the menu offered a very good range of choices for both the main courses and deserts. The breakfast was excellent and offered a very good choice of options including a buffet and cooked full English breakfast. The staff were very friendly and the service excellent throughout our stay. Will certainly return for another visit.

We went using a Travelzoo offer, which included tickets to Beaulieu motor museum. Communication between hotel and myself was good as I had a couple of enquiries prior to arrival. The hotel is indeed in a lovely location, with riverside walks to Beaulieu Village and beyond to the Motor museum. Our room in the Adam’s annex was overlooking the car park, so some vehicle movement was heard, but the decor was lovely and had tea/coffee making facilities. Radio and usb points. Powerful shower and nice quality shampoo/conditioner. We ate both in The Riverview restaurant and Pub. The ambiance in Riverview was genteel and calm, but felt the portion size of food was small for the cost. The food in the pub area represented slightly better value, and more relaxed, casual dining experience. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay and would return.

We stayed at this hotel as part of their Beaulieu Break. I was very impressed with the way my reservation was managed and the response to my queries both pre-visit and during the visit. The room was clean, well equipped and more than adequate for our stay. The only comment I would make is that the ventilation in the bathroom felt inadequate. Parking was good and close and the location is excellent. I felt the Beaulieu Break package respresented good value for money and based on my experience I would recommend to others.
