Our time in Beijing was significantly negatively impacted by our experience at this hotel. I paid on arrival, but there was an issue with the hotels POS. I had my receipt of payment on WeChat as well as the proof of negative balance in my bank account. More over my account transaction status was confirmed, not pending. The reception immediately requested that I pay again, when I said no she began yelling at me. I told her I wanted to go to my room to rest as our travel to Beijing had been long. The reception staff and my brother and myself had many long winded arguments over the next two days as the manager rudely insisted that we pay again and treated us disrespectfully and rudely. This climaxed at the manager shouting MONEY MONEY at me at 7am in the morning, after I told her the previous day I would call my bank in Australia (something that I am out of pocket for). I have never been treated so terribly my a hotel, which is supposedly meant to be a place of rest and retreat. Moreover at no point had I don’t anything wrong since I paid and had proof of transactions on my end. The treatment was disgusting and when on the third day, the hotels bank finally came through and shared the money with them, the staff were all smiles. I was so angry and let down by this stage that we had already decided we wanted to check out early so I insisted they refund me my last day (another 45-1hr) of arguing. My experience of all the attractions Beijing had to offer were detracted from by the stress and lack of rest I was able to have at this hotel. Moreover, the bests are so incredible hard and you can feel the springs. I slept on top of my duvet, cold and bitten by mosquitos (or shivering with the air conditioning on). The location is great, with many restaurants close by but stay elsewhere, there are many options.
