Taj Bekal Resort & Spa, Kerala

A nice idyllic holiday place. Lovely rooms with a swing bed in the balcony .. nice airy rooms . Lovely all Inclusive resort .. with a beach and backwaters . Taj hospitality very good as usual . Were given an early Check in since we reached by 10 am from Mumbai . Special mention of the Sadhya- traditional Kerela banana leaf meal we had plus the free high tea available near the poolside everyday .. lovely stay

Our stay at Taj Bekal was amazing. The location of the resort is just superb, it is not too far from the city and at the same time it offers a quiet and peaceful stay. The backwaters and the access to the beach is great! We did not explore the activities much, though they offer a good set. Bekal Fort is just 10 minutes drive and it offers stunning views, it is a must visit place.

We were very happy with the stay, amazing staff that makes this property shine very high, apart from the beautiful rooms and super delicious food. Few names to note are Hritika, Soumyajit, Dipankar, Sabin, Prem amongst the extraordinary others, all were amazing. Definitely will highly recommend the experience.

The rooms are designed for ultimate pampering and amenities within resort helping you to unwind and rejuvenate. In all, a place to visit and create memories for long.

It is unexpected. I have stayed at almost all Taj properties, this one is something different. It is not clean at all. Outside as well as inside the room. We had to wait for check in as the room was not ready. So we sent to the beach and went for lunch after that. We ordered a pasta and noodles. Noodles were good but pasta was too bad. It was tasting like some Indian vegetable. We had requested for a cake. It was so tiny. The hotel had kept a paper knife with cake. Nobody has an issue with paying extra for a cake. Please next time onwards, keep a decent cake and at least keep a butter knife ***** with the cake. We are staying in premium villa with courtyard and plunge pool. Everything is dirty. I’ll attach pictures ***** with this review. Bathtub, area surrounding it. Room’s main door. Just outside the door. Flies in bathroom inside room. Most disgusting thing; the western commode is dirty. Pathetic!!!!! The TV inside this room is very tiny. No speakers. It is not even a smart TV. How is this a Taj Exotica??!! At least keep a smart TV and speakers. How will people staying in this room will listen to music while in pool ??

Awesome stay, beautiful property, and nice facilities inside the resort. Moonlight rafting is good experience. Food is awesome, staff is extremely courteous. Stroll at Backwater and beach is peaceful. High tea service is really good. All facilities inside the resort

My most memorable stay at Taj. Super efficient team led by Mr.Shiju. The hospitality was next level. My family and I would recommend Taj Bekal as must visit place where the guests are truely treated as “ Atithi Devo bhaav”. My special mention would be Jason, Vishnu and Helina, chavi and Aakash who made our stay very comfortable. Thank you team Taj Bekal. It’s like “Wah Taj”

A trip to Bekal. It was a 3nights 4 days trip. We started from mumbai with Air India direct flight to ***galore which was approximately 90 min. We had pre booked the hotel taxi which is about 2 hrs drive to Taj Bekal Resort. Chauffeur Mr.PRASHANTH was very friendly & informative. As we reached the Resort we had a warm welcome, it was an express check in. We had book Premium Villa with Courtyard and Plunge Pool King Bed which was spacious. Plunge pool was not that great need the renovation but , the swing had all the joy ,great time in bathtub with hot water as it was raining heavily. There is no privacy too pool, swing & bat tub as it all connected to lawn to the other side i.e. lawn facing back water. Architecture is decent has maintained a good height which gives it very grand look. Resort is widely connected to back water also it was so quiet that we were able to hear the sea waves sound clearly. Toilets & bath area is good with all Forest Essence cosmetics & hygiene Maintained by the house keeping. Food:The Food option were less as they have only two restaurants & one bar. We had buffet for dinner but the options were very less. The breakfast has also a same problem there were ***y repeated options. Being a brand TAJ this was not expected, *though quality of the food is good there is no doubt in it* . Personal attention was been giving by the restaurant staff ( Back water cafe), special thanks to Tanuja and Yashoda. In room dining was good we had ordered pizza that was very freshly prepared & warm served , Chicken tandoor tikka which was supposed to be served with salad dressing, was served with Sprouts and that too at night which I didn’t like at all. Hi-tea is the very good event they have every evening. They had presented all the local food Spa: We had pre booked the slots for aroma therepy Threapist RUTH was good with the pressure we required. The spa rooms are very big & carm. we enjoyed it. The ***aging staff is good, very helpful all the time ,Buggy service is good no more waiting . The time of check out the the billing was ready & smooth check out they gave us the momentum as token off remembers. Had a great loving stay

The resort itself is awesome, landscapes are great. But the Taj'ness is missing, somehow we didn't get the same customer service we expect from Taj, looks like Marriott has taken over in that department, Marriott is just superb. The smiles we got was fake, didn't know who the ***ager was, he never introduced himself/herself. Restaurant was below average, given there's not a whole lot to do in Bekal, that was a real dissatisfier. Overall I don't think I am recommending to anyone nor am I going back.
