Unfortunately this is a horrible place to stay or eat. The food was cold and totally lacking any real flavour, the accommodation just felt dirty and the bar/restaurant area lacked any atmosphere beyond unwelcoming. The Peak District is beautiful, but this establishment really lets it down.

The room was dirty, noisy and there was no window to the outside. The room was under the bar/eating area, which meant it was very noisy and the only window looked onto the communal corridor, meaning a lack of natural light and no privacy if you open the curtains. It was impossible to stand up straight in the shower, as the sloping roof goes over it and the lack of cleaning was disgusting.

The room was dirty, with stains on the bedding and mould in the bathroom. All of the rooms are directly under the bar/restaurant, which means they are very noisy and the only window looks into the communal corridor, causing no view, no privacy and a lack of natural light.

Absolutely amazing place! Very friendly staff and owners, delicious food, cosy and clean rooms. Stunning view and peaceful surrounding makes you want to stay there forever. We will definitely come back again!

Lovely place to stay, socialize and eat. Room is comfortable with a fantastic bed. It is a beautiful quiet setting, not far from the Sett Valley Trail, so you can enjoy an easy walk to Hayfield or New Mills. The food is fantastic. Breakfast is a highlight. We had a family meal for my birthday and it pleased every one of us. Nick the chef is a talented guy. When we visit the UK again, we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

The room was spotlessly clean with cracking views from the door step. Plenty of car park space with polite and friendly staff. I only stopped the one night because I was there for work. The food was delicious and even though I was late, I was still served plenty of grub.

Great service especially from Letitia. She was warm, friendly and professional. Room was clean and comfortable, (the shower could do with an upgrade). Meal was quite expensive but was good quality and tasty. Breakfast was good. Would stay again.

The owners were very friendly. We took our dogs who received a welcome pack, along with a treat after breakfast the next morning. The breakfast was excellent, proper butchers sausages which is very important to us having a butcher in the family. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Many thanks

The owners were every bit as advertised - wonderful and friendly like home from home. Wes arrived in our motor home at lunchtime and parked down by the river, at the end of the pubs garden - which was a haven for our dog. The food we had as a family was simply outstanding, as was the service for us all, as well as the dog!! I can’t say enough good things.
