Bolton by Bowland - Coach and Horses gem in the Ribble Valley. Beautifully appointed room complimented by a wonderful service team, food and beverages. Extremely satisfying stay. Loved the in house brewed ale. Very good breakfast. Just a perfect stopover

I wish every restaurant was like this. Just a great lunch cooked well, in an old building full of character and charm. Friendly staff. Best creme brûlée I've EVER had and I've had a lot. nice Rhubarb too. To find a place that has such a quality food offering for 'grown ups' at lunchtime but also has a top kids menu to cater for our burger/nugget loving offspring is to strike gold. This place saved our holiday. We are now debating if we can justify driving the 2.5 hours from our normal home to come back again for lunch...

Wonderful hotel. Service 100% professional staff who work extremely hard. There’s a special atmosphere here amongst the people who work here and it is quite rare. The chef Ian is an amazing chef very modest chilled out and absolutely talented. I can not fault the cooking whatsoever. Rooms beautiful and breakfasts also super. Thank you.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Coach and Horses and loved every minute. Our room was beautiful and immaculately clean, with the design being very well thought out. All furnishings are of very high quality. We loved the open plan bedroom/ bathroom. The home- baked biscuits provided each day were just delicious. Ramona and her team provide excellent service throughout the hotel and couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Food is top class, whether breakfast, dinner or bar snacks. The Coach and Horses has lovely decor which perfectly suits such an old hostelry that is full of history. Beautifully clean and comfortable. On chilly days there is a log stove crackling away in the bar. Too cold when we were there, but there’s plenty of space to enjoy a drink outdoors. The Four Mice lager, brewed on the premises ( you can watch while eating breakfast!) is excellent, as are the cocktails and a much -better- than- your-usual pub wine list. There are excellent walks nearby, many of them with a pub at the end, providing hot chocolate or a wee dram to heat you up. Lots of information on these, and other things to do, provided in your room, and supplemented by the helpful staff. A special mention to Ramona who goes above and beyond to ensure you have the best stay possible. For those with an EV, there’s a charger in the car park.

I cannot recommend this place enough for an overnight stay. I’ve visited before for a drink and was suitably impressed but nothing prepared me for the overnight stay. Simply put…it was fabulous. Stayed in room Rose which was beautiful and finished to a high standard. We had booked a weekend tasting stay and the food was also fantastic. They swapped a few courses for alternative dishes for my wife who is a fussy eater and even she said she would return for the meal. Front of house was all handled by Ramona (hope I have the spelling right!) and she is the perfect host. She could not have done more.

Our stay at the Coach and Horses was a very pleasant stay. The rooms were very cosy and most welcoming. The staff were all very friendly and made our stay a very good one. We ate in the restaurant which was excellent the food was very appetising and tasted delicious, enjoyed by us all. We will definitely be returning to the Coach and Horses. There had one fault. We didn’t stay long enough. Thank you.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in. Shower is massive and amazing. We had the full English in the morning which was lovely and the best porridge I have ever had. Staff were lovely too.

I don’t leave many reviews on Tripadvisor but felt compelled to comment on this lovely place. We stayed for our anniversary in the Rose room with Sunday dinner Bolton by Bowland is a lovely little village and the Coach and Horses is beautifully restored restaurant with rooms with a cozy bar area and attractive dining room and micro brewery. The stylish bedrooms are all different with some thoughtful touches (homemade cookies, coffee machine, robes etc). The food was fantastic (recommend the selection of local cheeses) and service from James and his team was warm and friendly. Don’t hesitate to book, this place ticks all the boxes.
