Strand Hotell Borgholm

If you have food allergies, I would advise against visiting this restaurant. Despite ordering gluten-free food, we were served food that contained gluten. Additionally, the children's meal we ordered for our child had an excessive amount of salt. Overall, our experience at the restaurant was not good due to poor service. Furthermore, the response from the managers was unsatisfactory, as it was a standard response and did not address our concerns effectively.

Nice place, but in need of an upgrade. Nice room on the side of the building, quiet and with ocean view. Nice restaurant og nice staff. Location: right next to the beach. Somewhat expensive and very large facility

Borgholm is a nice town and the Strand has a great location. We booked a family room in August and based on pictures we expected beach time as well as touring the island. The biggest issue was the lack of air conditioning. Our room was city view and even with the shades drawn all day the early sunrise baked the room even when peak outdoor temp was low 70s. Pictures of large beach and volleyball must have been from years ago. Between the nice deck and the beach was 20 yards of dirt & grass. The beach is 10 - 20 feet of course sand. Breakfast bar was fine but did not compare to Clarion in Stockholm for example. Overall the appearance and amenities were a bit dated and showing wear, and not worth the price.

Decided to eat in the hotel since we were staying there. Ordered starters and mains, however the mains came before the starters. We then proceeded to wait for 2.5 hours for the mains which appeared to be reheated versions which were offered 1.5 hours earlier. We understand the difficulties that kitchens now face but a little sympathy with the guests or even, dare I suggest, an apology for the delay would have gone a long way. Instead I got the impression the problems were all of our own making because we dared to order a meal. Never again.

We had a good stay at the hotel. In short, we got what we paid for, nothing more, nothing less. This is the typical “lagom” or good enough experience you would get at a typical Swedish hotel. The room is nice, clean, with updated Scandinavian design interior. We got a suite with sea view which came with an almost full kitchen with fridge and freezer, stove, and dishwasher. The beds were ok (again, nice enough). The TV was a little small for the room but it worked. Breakfast was quite decent, so as food at the restaurant for dinner. Staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The pool was quite nice and long enough for lap swim. The sauna room was decent and got hot. The location was quite good. The hotel was within 30 mins walking distances of all the attractions in Borgholm. Also the sunset view was memorable and amazing. There is a really nice bike rental shop on the hotel premise that we highly recommend.

Room standard far below of what you could expect for the price paid....seems you just cheap not wanting to invest in your rooms....hope it will show in your business also soon

Nice location. But room. No Fridge or so.

Det var ikke aircondition på rommet, så det var ganske varmt. Ellers var hotellet bra. Frokosten var også bra.
