Hotel Stadt Breisach

My wife and I had made reservations for a three night package at the Hotel Stadt Breisach in the Black Forest over Chris**as 2023. A big disappoin**ent. Check in went smoothly and we were told at reception that for the Chris**as Eve Gala Dinner we had to be seated punctually at 6:30. We went for drinks in the bar at 5 p.m. and then went to the restaurant for our dinner. Both were good. Next morning (Chris**as Day) we went to find out where lunch would be served, which we were prepared to pay for as it was not included in the package, only to find that there was no lunch served, the bar did not open until 5:pm and was only open from Thursday to Monday. The hotel did not offer lunch but coffee and cake would be available from 2 p.m. And that was it. We had unknowingly reserved a stay at a hotel that served no more than one slice of cake and a cup of coffee between breakfast and dinner. That evening dinner was OK but nothing to write home about: salmon fillet served on a mountain of spinach, and tagliatella. Next day I asked my wife if she would prefer to cut our stay short and head for home right away. Her face lit up and “Yes please” was her answer. On our way to breakfast I stopped off at Reception to cancel our remaining day. We had packed before breakfast so it wasn’t long before we were on our way back to Luxembourg. We stopped for lunch at our favourite Tandoori restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. After we arrived home I went on to the hotel’s website but no mention was made of the bar only opening in the evening and being closed two days a week, nor that there would be no lunch served on the days we were booked in. Had there been we would have quickly moved on to other hotels before we made our reservation. All in all, a big disappoin**ent

A nice hotel with very nice staff. Good location for nearby towns but be prepared to walk up hill or steps if you dont drive.

I recently spend 4 nights at the Hotel Stadt Breisach. Even though it was built in the 70s, the design and architecture of the hotel are great (I read it received an award). The view is fantastic and the location of the hotel is ideal for exploring this area, Kaiserstuhl, Schwarzwald and Vogesen. However, some rooms and hallways are really old-fashioned, crumbling and urgently need upgrading. Really used, old fixtures, furniture & carpets, no minibar/coffee facilities (I believe this is in progress). Really nice new pool, albeit a bit cold and a nice sun terrace. We did not use the sauna area but it looked really well done. It would have been nice had they offered a more extensive wellness-program (only massages), advertising it as a wellness hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful and the bar (open Thursday to Sunday only??) looked inviting. The restaurant was good, the terrace is beautiful. This hotel could be a real gem.

Nice hotel with a nice view but somewhat difficult to locate. Nice rooms and good food but most importantly quiet location. Not many guests probably related to the time of the year still limited parking spots.

Eigentlich hatten wir ein Komfortzimmer gebucht. Aber wenn das Komfort ist dann möchte ich Standard mal sehen. Wir haben nachgefragt ob die Kategorie evtl vertauscht wurde. Nein diese abgegewohnten Möbel in diesem kleinen verstaubten Zimmer sind Komfort. Bad sehr klein. Auch nicht sauber. Zum Teil fehlen die Fugen. Duschen in der Wanne fast unmöglich ohne das Bad zu überschwemmen. Der Abluss ließ sich nicht öffnen da die ganze Vorrichtung kaputt war. Wasserhahn war so alt dass kein Chrom mehr dran war. So ein abgewohntes Zimmer hatten wir noch nie. Frühstück war gut, Abendessen sehr gut. Tag und Nacht hörte man ein Brummen das vom Schwimmbad kam. Diese Beschwerde wurde überhaupt nicht ernst genommen. Baulärm gab es noch dazu. Preis Leistung stimmt nicht. Viel zu teuer.

Mooi hotel met uitstekend restaurant in een prachtige omgeving. Er is geen airconditioning jammer genoeg, maar kunnen behelpen met ventilator

Das Hotel liegt auf einer Anhöhe. Die Zimmer sind teilweise in Richtung Rhein und Vogesen Blick gelegen. Bei der Buchung unbedingt darauf achten ein Zimmer mit der Nummer 4 zu erhalten. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein, Ausnahme Appartements. Im Bad ist eine Badewanne mit hohem Einstieg. Alles etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist sehr vielfältig. Es ist appetitlich h angerichtet, eine große Teeauswahl und Kaffee nach Wahl.
