"As hubby and I had worked late in the local area we both decided to have a bite to eat here before heading home. So glad we chose to eat here. On entering the pub we were given a warm welcome from the landlord who we later found out was called Bob. He was very jolly, friendly, helpful and smartly dressed. Our drinks order was taken and these were brought over to the table along with some menus. We both had the homemade soup of the day which was vegetable, very thick, creamy and extremely delicious for our starter. Hubby then had the homemade lasagne served with garlic bread, it looked and he said it tasted great. I had the gammon and all the trimmings which was cooked to perfection. All the meals were served on hot plates which we like, presented well and very ample sized portions. It was obvious that all was homemade, non of this microwave rubbish and we must pass on our compliments to the chef. We were both too stuffed to have or even share a sweet but the selection on offer looked mouth watering! The pub although not over busy had a lovely atmosphere to it, was clean, tidy and tastefully decorated. All drinks and meals were very reasonably priced and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. On finding out that they also have hotel rooms above which are reasonably priced we have planned a return visit in the near future. We can highly recommend anyone calling in here for a bite to eat or even just for a drink and look forward to returning there ourselves."
