Churchill Brighton

The room was not spacious. We stayed in room no.8. The building is 199 years old and that's older than floors can stay level. The tilt in room 8 is from East to West (I guess) and it made for a nice sleeping situation, as our feet were slightly higher than our heads. There was no chairs in the room (there wasn't any space for chairs). However, the slope of the floor made it somewhat comfy to just sit on the carpet, leaning against the wall. There was no possibility to get any sound on the TV, so there wasn't any sound of any other TVs coming through the walls or floor either. The bed was super clean and we did sleep very well.

If you're looking for clean and comfortable accommodation - without the bells and whistles in a fantastic location in Brighton this is your place. Pleasant stay, comfortable bed and hot shower. Self check-in and room only basis ideal for short stay.

Lovely comfy room with a very cosy bed and pillows, nice balcony with a lovely view, host is very accommodating and friendly and was able to communicate back and forth with him at ease, the location is fantastic, we stayed for a show at the Brighton centre which was a 2 minute walk, but is also centre to everything else! Will be using this hotel for all my Brighton visits on going!

This little place is quirky! Sloping floors and ceilings, but that just adds to its character. We stayed in room 9 which is on the third floor. The stairs are quite steep and narrow, so you have to be careful when lugging a suitcase up! Our room was lovely, a great size, cosy warm, clean with a comfy bed and overlooks a lovely garden square. What more do you need?! Very quiet location when we stayed. It’s certainly not a luxurious room though but we didn’t pay the Earth for it so that’s totally fine, we were more than happy! No breakfast but again, that was ok with us. You get tea/coffee, kettle, iron, ironing board and hairdryer in your room. I suppose the only ******* in our room was the shower which had a sign on saying to wait 15 minutes between showers as it was slow to drain and the toilet seat, which had the coating coming off. Neither bothered us that much though, definitely no biggie! The location is amazing, a short walk down the road and you’re at the seafront, you’re near to The Lanes and the Pier is about a 15 minute walk I suppose. Parking in Brighton is not good at the best of times so having a couple of multi-storey car parks just down the road was a bonus. Expensive though (£28 for the day) but never mind! We met Robert, the owner, when we left and he seemed a really lovely man. We did feel it lacked the personal touch a little, however, as there was nobody to greet us when we arrived, only a door code and make your own way up, but we definitely appreciate nobody can be there 24/7 in a little guest house like this!! We would definitely stay again and would like to thank Robert and his team for all their hard work.

Small but very cosy double room with ensuite located at the back of house & super quiet. Room was clean & comfy for our 4 night stay. Attended each day which was nice even when we were up late.. Host & staff all lovely & friendly. Perfect location for a city & beach break..

My heart sinks a bit when I book a hotel with a staffless check-in, but this sweet little place in a quiet square just back from Brighton's seafront, had manager/proprietor Robert on hand to provide personal charm and helpfulness. Clean room, supremely comfy bed, old-skool room key and very reasonable rates make this somewhere we're sure to come back to.

Great location and it was perfect for an overnight stay for my mums birthday. The beds were very comfy. We were just a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the room - it stunk of smoke. We opened the windows and I sprayed my perfume (not ideal) but we couldn’t get rid of it. Hopefully just a blip as I’d stayed here before and it wasn’t an issue.

Great little guest house VERY close to the sea front tThe Lanes&all amenities. The host Rob is very welcoming and extremely helpful. The room is was beautifully clean with a cute balcony. Bed was so comfortable, lovely linen with big white fluffy towels in the en-suite. There is a smart TV, iron hairdryer and a coffee and tea station ( I would have liked a ‘getting ready mirror’The one behind the bed is no good for doing your hair and makeup ) Water pressure in the shower is very low but, that’s probably not an issue with the proprietor more, the age of the building. The rooms are quite small but,there was enough space for us. The stairs are steep so maybe not the best for elderly or anyone with mobility issues. This guest house could not be in a better location .Cute room with character. We enjoyed our stay & will definitely return in the future

Very nice, small room with all the facilities we needed. Warm, quiet, full access to central heating and lots of hot water. We enjoyed how friendly the owner is and how quiet the location is despite being so near to the sea and the nightlife.
