Excellent hotel, beautiful room and good parking

Excellent value Great Breakfast: full English freshly cooked included in the reasonable room rate. Friendly staff, early check-in was no problem. Definitely will return here

Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and tidy and bed was comfortable. The shower room was small but perfect for what we needed. The hotel wasn’t serving food during our stay but did serve a hot breakfast which was delicious. Would stay here again

My wife and I were looking for somewhere to stay near Ashburton because we didn't want to drive back to west Cornwall in the dark after a meeting we were attending. We also didn't want to spend too much on our room. The Abbey Inn fitted perfectly AND INCLUDED FREE BREAKFAST as well. The staff were most welcoming and helpful and it was a real pleasure to stay in such a lovely location, with the sound of the river rushing by. I am sure that in the summer it would be even more beautiful, sitting on the decking enjoying an evening drink. Checking in was really easy. The room was perfectly acceptable, despite having chosen the smallest double room. The bed was really comfortable.

We stayed in the small double, outstanding value. Very clean ,warm room with nice white bedding, fluffy towels, good wifi. Hot shower . Tasty cooked breakfast, friendly staff.. Best value for money we have experienced. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely riverside, staff was friendly with an excellent cleaning lady, keeping our room super clean and tidy.

Easy to find, easy to park, quick simple check in and friendly staff. Not a large room but adequate, clean and bright. Food was served in the dinining room by lovely staff who were very helpful. Local to Buckfast Abbey which is about 10 minutes away on foot. Thank you all

The Inn is located next to a main road so rooms at the front will experience road noise and no view of note. The evening meal was OK and staff were polite and helpful. At breakfast we were offered raspberry yoghurts, both were off and not edible. The waitress apologised but said they could not be replaced as they had non left! The bacon was thin and sadly overcooked. Our room was clean and generally well presented, although the en-suite was very small. The Abbey Inn is no doubt an old building and this must limit the ability of the owners to offer modern building services and appeal. Work and decoration has been carried out but old buildings have limitations unless large sums of money are spent or invested.

Lovely place by the river. Would definitely stay again. Food was lovely! Highly recommended! The burger was sensational. Very friendly staff. Rooms are named very quirky after birds. Only thing I can put it down on was my room was very hot. Was a warm day with the sun beating in through the window. Would be good if the curtains were drawn to keep it a little cooler. Fan provided so not all bad. Can't control the weather. 5 star service
