Sahari Zanzibar

This was a great hotel on the beach just north of Paje. We booked the deluxe sea view room and it looked nothing like the photos online - they have redone this room (I don't which others were redecorated but not all of them - this was September 2024). It was such a nice surprise as they had no photos of this online. It was all shades of sand - calm and relaxing with modern, light wood furniture. If they do all the rooms like this it will be an outstanding hotel. The private deck with the sea view was fantastic with very comfortable chairs for reading or relaxing. The shower was the best we had in Africa. The bed was very comfortable. The pool area was great too - a bit bigger than it looks online. The restaurant had great food - we had breakfast here, one lunch and one dinner and all was good. The staff is friendly and eager to help. The beach here does have some seaweed but we still enjoyed walking on it. When we were there it was low tide for much of the daytime hours and so swimming would be hard. We walked down to Paje one day (only do this at low tide as your path will be cut off by higher water) and had lunch and swam there, then took a taxi back. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay at this hotel.

Great staff great location great food great pool lovely gardens. Absolutely fantastic relaxing place to stay after the chaos of Kilimanjaro and Safari part of our holiday. Very chilled. The staff made it for us, couldn’t be lovelier. Beautiful beach with some activities about 15 minutes south

Refreshing, comfortable, kickback small boutique hotel on the lovely beach of Zanzibar. Clean, and comfortable bed and pillow. Bed was extra large king. Totally cute decor. Teas & coffee with kettle. Fresh water provided. Very cool because no plastic. Not even water bottles. They use glass. Baskets not plastic bags. Yoga space . Was very casual. I never felt watched. Ok, service A+ from housecleaning to garden and grounds, . Best waiter and waitress. Voiner, she was excellent. She went above and beyond . And always with a big smile. Very polite. All employees, positive attitudes, totally happy. For me make a huge differences when on holiday. You wont be disappointed. I give them all a gold star.

We stayed at the Sahari Hotel for the best part of three weeks. We absolutely loved our stay, so much so, it was very sad to leave. The location is perfect, close enough to Paje to visit, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the beach. The room was stunning, with a big and comfortable bed. The staff came in every day to freshen it up and make amazing animal models out of the towels. The staff were fantastic, especially the restaurant staff. We ate there nearly every night as the food was great and the staff were amazing. We would like to make a special mention of Voina and Devis who were great. They made us feel like we were at home. The Saturday night entertainment was brilliant, made even better by the amazing Swahili buffet. Thank you for teaching us to be more polepole in life. Something we will be practicing much more at home. We cannot recommend the Sahari Hotel enough, and we will be back!

I have just returned from my two-week trip to Zanzibar and was able to have the wonderful experience of staying in this incredibly beautiful hotel which has so much charm and is looked after by a wonderful Sahari staff family and in my opinion every position is perfectly filled. From the very beginning you are given a very warm welcome and everything is shown to you and explained really well. The rooms are very lovingly decorated and always clean. The service staff are very friendly and the food is just perfect with enough choice for everyone and very beautifully presented. There is also a tour guide on site. We also went on tours and everything always went smoothly and to our complete satisfaction :) We also had great live African music at dinner which turned into a great party with a real vibe and we really enjoyed it. The location is also faulty - beautiful sunrises and moonrises right on the doorstep on a sea horizon. Unfortunately it doesn't look as great in the pictures as it was, but I enjoyed the views. In my opinion, the Sahari is in the perfect location. You can get anywhere in no time and it doesn't matter if you come alone, as a couple, family or friends, everyone thinks it's great here. I also had great conversations with almost all of the guests there and there was someone of every kind and everyone shares my opinion that this is a wonderfully loving place and, like me, they would recommend it to everyone. You have peace and quiet when you want it or you can talk to the staff. Everyone is happy to talk to you and that's what I liked best because they make it the place it is :) If there are any technical problems, there is a super maintenance person on site who will take care of it immediately. I could go on writing like this for hours but I don't want to take away from you the experience that you can have like I did and will never forget and I will definitely go back on my next trip to Zanzibar. My stay at the Sahari Hotel was simply wonderful. The white sandy beach with the turquoise blue water right on the doorstep is a dream - perfect for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the beauty of Zanzibar. However, the livelier Paje is only a few minutes away by tuk tuk if you're looking for more bustle. I would particularly like to highlight the staff. From the cleaning staff to reception, restaurant team, security, management, … - everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive and always eager to ensure I had an unforgettable time. Whether it was a special meal request, help with organising excursions or simply a friendly chat or playing “corn-hole” in the beautiful garden, the team always made me feel welcome and part of a big family. A big thank you to every single person who made my holiday incredibly unique with their cordiality. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with nice, typical local accents and a wonderful garden. The rooms were clean and comfortable, equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The food was another highlight: every dish was fresh and prepared with love. There is a different typical Swahili dish every day on request, but the international dishes are also amazing. I will definitely be back and can recommend the Sahari to anyone who wants to have a wonderful time in Zanzibar. A huge asante sana to the whole team - you all made it really hard for me to say goodbye!
