Doubtless Bay Villas

The place was clean and bright though the room was a little cramped. It was good location with a nice view and a 5-10 minute walk down a hill to the local beach but a car was needed to go shopping, etc. We had to make last minute changes to our booking due to flight issues and found the hosts very accommodating and pleasant. The bathroom and shower were great but the foam mattresses were soft and hard on the back.

After a 6-week road trip through NZ, it's the perfect place to „recover“, could really just enjoy and relax. The view from the villa is fantastic. Villa is very clean. Tennis court for free use. Lots of beautiful beaches in the area. If I ever travel to New Zealand again I will definitely come back here.

Doubtless bay is an excellent resort, we had a 1 bedroom apar**ent which was undersold if anything, fantastic facilities, including a utility room and 2 toilets. Short walk down quite a steep hill to a small beach, tougher walk back up but this will work off the ice cream from the shop down below! Only one thing the owners need to keep on top of is the little bits of mould and rust starting to grow on some surfaces such as blinds and bins/fans.

What a beautiful villa. Slightly disappointed it wasn't ready when we arrived, but it was worth the wait. A stunning property, beautifully fitted out with everything you need. A great view from the veranda. Highly recommended and would recommend the two bedroom villa

Lovely place to stay. Great views over the beaches and surrounding area. Quiet and easy to find. Would definitely book again. Mark was very welcoming but left us to enjoy our stay, which was what we were looking for.

Terrific accommodation, splendid views. Excellent manager. Extremely comfortable: one of those places where you immediately feel at home. 10 points, no negative remarks whatsoever.

The villas are amazing.You are supplied everything you would ever need for a great vacation.The views are absolutely stunning from the rooms and decks.Jane and Mark will let you know all the best spots to visit during your stay with good recommendations of where to eat out if you so require.Will definitely stay here when we are in the area again.5 star property.

We visited Doubtless Bay Villas at the end of our 4-week trip to New Zealand. The apar**ent and views were incredible. We stayed in apar**ent 20, which was a duplex. The apar**ent had absolutely everything that you would need to self-cater and all quality items. Bed/Pillows are obviously subjective, but we found both to be extremely comfortable and supportive. Grey facecloths for removing makeup/sunscreen and a magnifying mirror as well as a large enclosed shower and a separate bathtub. The apar**ent had full length balconies on both the living area and bedroom floors and the views were just unreal! This area of Northland is well worth the extra car miles from the more popular Bay of Islands. The start of 90 Mile Beach, leading to Cape Reinga is about a 20 minute drive away. The beautiful sheltered beaches at Maitai Bay on the Karikari Peninsula are an easy 20-25 minutes drive. If you don't want to even go that far, you have Cable Bay directly in front of the apar**ents and Coopers Beach, five mins down the road. Mark and Jane, run and manage the apar**ents, and I would highly recommend contacting them directly to make a booking. We hadn't pre-booked and they managed to jig things around and accommodate us. An incredible experience and one we will definitely repeat.

We had the most fabulous stay here - couldn’t have asked for more in our holiday at the villas. We even extended our stay an extra night as we loved it so much. The view was incredible, the apar**ent was really spacious - perfect for our family of four. It was beautifully presented and lots to do including tennis, heaps of games and swim towels we could borrow. The owners are super friendly, giving us fishing tips and drawing maps for us. Highly recommend!!!!l
