Globales Cala Bona

Relaxing restful break. We arrived the last week in October and had a lovely all inclusive break. The main positive was the staff, everyone was pleasant, helpful and went above and beyond. The hotel has 4 floors with 1 lift. We never had to wait for the lift as most people walked down and only took lift up. All rooms over look the pool. A big positive was the door key was attached to your wristband, so no losing it or it getting wiped by your phone. You are provided with a card to used in the electricity slot. We were on the first floor and had a suite with 2 rooms. Large rooms with the 2nd room not needed by us but was a handy space to keep our suitcases and leave items out , it has a second tv and would be a nice place to sit and chill if needed. The main bedroom attached to the balcony was very modern and stylish, large bed very comfortable. Fridge and safe , refreshment tray with kettle. Extra pillows and quilt in wardrobe. TV and aircon. Great lighting but as mentioned by many, no drawers. Hanging space and shelves in wall unit but replacing the stylish bedside tables with drawers would all that needed to be done. You need to have somewhere to keep your smalls. The bathroom was very large and had a powerful walk-in shower with toiletries provided. Good hairdryer. A small edge around the sink being the only place to put toiletries apart from the floor. A shelf is needed. The food and drink was all that was needed for all inclusive and had a wide selection at all meals to choose from. The chefs and waiters are always available and work very hard to meet everyones needs. There is an outside snack bar where snacks are cooked to order if needed. The hotel operates a token system for poolside drinks. You are given a token. Which is exchanged for a drink in a plastic glass, when you have finished you return your glass and retrieve a token. This works well, and keeps the poolside clean. We didn’t use the indoor pool or gym, good size outdoor pool, which we did use even though it was very cold so late in the season. Plenty of sunbeds and Balinese beds , we had no issues getting one at anytime during the day, May be different in full season. There was only entertainment , singers/band on for 3 nights and I understand they are aiming at a quieter clientele but maybe more would be better. The hotel is situated 2 minutes from the small beach and 5 minutes from the harbour. Easy access to the promenade, bars, shops, restaurants and easy walk to Cala Millor. There is a bus stop outside the hotel. This hotel was ideal for us, but it was the staff who made the difference from the moment we arrived to leaving and to mention anyone in particular would be leaving someone out. We would look at returning in the future

One of the best all inclusive holidays we have had .The food was good and cleanliness of the rooms and hotel was spotless.The pool and availability of Sun beds was good but some people still reserve Sun beds with towels . The staff at this hotel are excellent and would definitely book this holiday again

Booked a week here as a cheap week away with husband, grown up daughter and her partner. Didn't have high expectations as not our main holiday, but we were so impressed by the staff, the cleanliness and the diverse food selection. Every single member of staff was helpful and jolly. As a result, guests were too. Guests took empty glasses back from the outdoor tables to the bar even though they weren't asked to. The staff work so hard but appear to have been here for years, which is a credit to the hotel manager. He can be seen daily around the hotel and clearly has a good relationship with his team. The hotel is spotless. Cleaning staff are there constantly and the maintenance guys were touching up as and where required (although it looked well kept everywhere). Food choice is excellent. Not vast swathes of food, but a very good mix and there was always lots that appealed to us. I didn't eat chips all week as the salads and veggies were particularly fresh and appealing! The snack bar food is cooked to order and nuclear hot! The buffet food is replenished frequently, despite this it can be a little tepid at times. There is a microwave if you like your food hotter though. A big shout out to all the staff, we had a great welcome from Sam on our arrival at 2am and all his reception colleagues after then. The cleaners are cheerful and thorough. The maintenance guy saved the day when he kindly repaired my husband's crutches (super star!). Head Chef who is visibily overseeing every service and his excellent team. The waiting staff are efficient and friendly, especially Lorraine! All the bar staff, Manolo, Christian and Juan Toni. Highlights: * Robust, properly washed plastic cups for poolside that avoid landfill. * Location and accessibility - two streets back from the prom avoids the noise from bars etc, but still in the thick of the resort. This hotel is totally accessible for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. * Service - just excellent! * Relaxed and friendly vibe * Showers available avoiding the need for a late check out Lows * I don't like the daily queues to reserve sunbeds. Poolside is closed until 9am and guests queue through reception from 8:30. This is due to what appears to be a shortage of sunbeds, not helped by people reserving them and not using them for hours. * Food could be slightly warmer, albeit this didn't affect our enjoyment. Overall, this hotel exceeded all of our expectations vastly. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Congratulations team, your hard work is appreciated!

Can not fault this hotel. This is our 2nd visit. Spotlessly clean, beautiful food, so much choice. Particular shout out to Kacey, Cati, Christian and Lorraine. Extremely comfortable beds in large rooms. Great for all ages. Great setting as only metres from the beach and miles of flat promenade.

Fabulous hotel our second time staying here. Staff are kind and friendly. It's super clean and food is great. The rooms are very spacious and have a separate TV lounge room. It's in a very convenient location close to the beach pubs and restaurants. It's super quiet and peaceful in the evening. Highly recommend.

The hotel itself is very clean, well maintained and the rooms are very nice, spacious and the bed is very comfy. The breakfast was standard with options of cereals and warm foods, meats, cheese pastries etc. the dinner and evening meals were very similar. Each day contained of pasta, potatoes, chips, fish, lamb/pork or chicken. Not much variety or change from the dinner to the evening meal. The food was nice but can be overly salty which wasn’t ideal for feeding a toddler. Want to give a huge shout out to Loli who worked in the dining hall and was incredibly lovely and friendly. Gave my toddler a lolly one evening and stood out as a staff member. Downside is the food wasn’t always warm, the bar served cocktails however where the menu said there was alcohol in I saw on many occasions these being made without any alcohol in at all. The bar staff was friendly as was the kitchen/ dining halls staff. Many receptionist also was happy to help however what one receptionist would say about being able to help and book excursions for you there was others who didn’t seem to want to help and didn’t seem to care. On the occasions I found the unhelpful staff working I would not approach for assistance. The pool area also didn’t open till 9 however found many people going out via the dining hall to put towels out when the main doors were closed. Many customers crowding round the baby pool leaving no space for the people with children. I felt this area should’ve been more reserved for families. In terms of location there was shops, bars and the odd restaurant nearby, there was entertainment at the hotel which was fairly loud and not family friendly. There was a couple bars nearby with entertainment but nothing much and repeated people each week. The beach was useless as it has masses of washed up seaweed and other things on the shore so you couldn’t just walk out to the beach. Often walked into Cala Millor for the beach. I would potentially return to the hotel if it was placed in a different area however won’t be returning anytime soon.

I don't recommend it!!!!!!!!!!! We waited a year for a vacation, we bought a hotel and vacation in the first minute and we were overbooked... and after us, a lot of people got reservations. We were probably removed due to the lower price and the holidays purchased much earlier.

OK so mixed reviews before we went but overall fab hotel. The cleanliness of the rooms ,reception ,bars ,restaurant and pool area was fantastic. The wristband as you room key is a great idea .Breakfast was lovely ,lots of choices ,sometimes hot ,sometimes warm depending on what time you went down for breakfast. Evening meals were nice too but slightly repetitive so we did venture out a couple of evenings. We were half board so cannot comment on lunch menu. The main bar/seating area was quite small .There we a few singers/entertainment whilst we were there but didn't watch as we went out every evening but can imagine it would get very cramped in there. Location is fantastic ,one road back from the pedestrianised ***** ,left takes you to Cala Bona and Right to Cala millor which is a 15 minute stroll into. Watch out for the cyclists! Overall if you are a looking for a lovely relaxing break than I cannot recommend this hotel enough....It was just what we needed,

We stayed all inclusive for 1 week at Globales cala bona. 2 adults and a 3 year old. The hotel was lovely definitely one of the nicest we’ve ever been too. Room was one big king bed with a tv kettle etc and storage in wardrobes and second room had a single bed couch tv and wardrobe storage. Bathroom was shower only and had a hair dryer. We had a couple of issues with the room which were resolved/dealt with by maintenance immediately. We had room 9 and I would say our main gripe was the noise, there was constant plumbing noises and banging from pipes which we reported but they couldn’t see anything to fix. Very annoying but just had to keep bathroom door shut. I can’t understand why the low hanging lights in the rooms I kept hitting it turning over in bed. Safety deposit box was €32 with €10 deposit returned on departure and tourist tax paid on arrival. Room key is on your wrist band which I think is just genius we never lost them or accidentally swiped them. The all inclusive food was fantastic, smaller than we’ve had elsewhere but we were never struggling and everything always hot fresh and tasty. We were often first in the dining room at dinner which we felt was odd but never the less food was good. Pool area is very clean, pool was so cold but you grew accustomed and it was nice for cool down. You get tokens for the bar from reception for drinks by the pool. A good system means you don’t take glass out. Sunbeds were never a problem but they were strict about it. You couldn’t go out before 9am to reserve. And if you were gone longer than 30 mins (with the exception at lunch) your towels were removed. No kids club just now but my 3 year old was okay. Plenty of parks and shops nearby to walk too. Lovely ***** along the front where you could walk for ages. We went to Cala Millor beach as the one in Cala bona is not great. Was 5 mins on the 424 bus or a 15 min walk. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and reception have printed timetables you can get. We also took this bus to Porto cristo which you can pay by card you tap on and tap off although we paid by cash it was €9 for two adults and child went free. It took about 30 mins. On morning of departure we were offered a cold breakfast before we left and it was ham cheese and bread. We had to tell reception night before that we were leaving early before breakfast opened. We had a very pleasant experience at this hotel. Only major issue out with the plumbing, was with palma airport but that’s not for this review.
