What a disappointing stay! Chose this hotel for a stress free last night of a busy 3 week holiday across Peru. Nothing but problems and poor service from the minute we arrived. Had to wait a good 10 mins before anyone acknowledged us at reception. Had dinner in restaurant and was made to feel like an eat and run criminal when trying to have meal charged to my room. Reception had asked for my credit card on arrival so there shouldn’t have been an issue. To resolve the issue I had to be escorted to reception and eventually it was sorted. Ridiculous! Then our room was freezing and after multiple attempts to use the room thermometer I called reception. After 3 unanswered attempts eventually someone picked up and told me that the room thermostat was only an air con with cold air (shouldn’t they have told me this on arrival?) Anyway, eventually they sent up an electric heater which took a while to heat up the room enough to comfortably sleep. Breakfast was pretty good (thank the lord) and after that we decided to use the spa as our flight wasn’t until 6pm. We were told we would have to be out by 1pm (our extended checkout time) which is fair enough but they were quite adamant there was absolutely no wiggle room on this. The Spa was very dated, non working shower, small and the hot tub/jacuzzi didn’t even work. Quite disappointing really but not surprising after the catalogue of bad service and problems. Next time we will definitely stay at Holiday Inn, sorry Wyndham it just wasn’t good enough!
