After having visited Palma for just a day several years ago on a cruise ship, we finally made it there for a 3 night stay during Easter. I can feel satisfied it was a good choice to stay in that part of the island because it is accessible to visit Palma and also drive to the west coast of Mallorca, to the towns of Andratx, Bañalbufar, Valldemosa, Deyá, Sóller and Port Sóller, which I strongly recommend to do. That drive is truly unforgettable. The St Regis Mardavall feels like staying in an hacienda. Breakfast is complimentary for all guests and it is of a high quality and variety. Only thing is I prefer a good freshly made American style waffle and not the supermarket type hard and sugary Belgian waffles they offered. The grounds of the hotel are very pretty with colorful flowers and trees. Feels very peaceful and relaxing to walk around the pool and gardens. The Spa has different types of wet saunas, dry saunas and pools. Massage was excellent, and if you have Bonvoy status, don't forget to ask for the extra 15 minutes coupon. Our room was upgraded to a Junior Suite which was spacious and well lit with all the expected amenites of high standard. We found an Easter arrangement of 2 Lindt chocolate bunnies which were incredibly tasty! Dinner at the Buffet was below average. However, dinner at Es Fum was truly memorable. The staff made sure we had a great time there. Almost all the staff was very friendly and helpful in bars and restaurants and also 2 concierges we spoke to. I thought parking would be complimentary because the website says complimentary Valet Parking, but it costs 25 Euro per night. They need to write that more clearly. We used the hotel bikes for a ride around the area which was fun. The doors from building to building are locked and you need to use your card to go past each door which is annoying. They should keep the doors open. The website shows a photo of a sandy area with turquoise water which I thought would be a nice place to sit and catch some sun, but it is not a beach and I was disappointed about that. There's practically no beach in this hotel. Overall, a great place to stay and the area will become more trending when the Mandarin Oriental opens next door. Thanks to Melanie and Rico for their assistance and hope to be able to return in the future.
