Hotel Creu de Tau Art&Spa-Adults Only

Amazing hotel in converted convent. Some amazing artwork on display. Luxurious rooms, even the most basic room which we had was super spacious with a huge bed. Great spa facilities and a small outdoor pool. Excellent breakfast, egg dishes made to order (we had eggs Benedict and crepe). Very welcoming reception staff, and the manager Tony also made us feel so welcome, explaining where to find everything at breakfast and checking everything ok with our room. Free parking. Didn't use the restaurant for dinner but will do next time. I highly recommend this amazing hotel.

this hotel has been beautifully converted from a monastery and all the little tech upgrades to the rooms are very impressive. the decor is old meets new with original floor vases that adorned the corridors when it was still a monastery, now next to modern art work hung on the walls. can't imagine how much it cost to excavate into sandstone to put a lift in let alone the underground heated pool, steam room, spa and jacuzzi area, all very cool and makes for a unique stay. the chapel has been converted into a gorgeous little hotel bar and the restaurant deck wraps around with views of the castle in the background. the restaurant cova negra offers impressive degustation menus (only for dinner) and room service brings up fine dining level of dishes, still hot on the plate, beautifully presented and delicious. we had paella for lunch at the restaurant which was delicious and crepe suzette which was made for us at our table. the swimming pool is the best feature of the hotel, it's small but there aren't many rooms in the hotel, so it's intimate. each room/couple gets their own cabana and the pool area looks right onto the castle in the background, it's quite a sight. the staff are all very friendly and accommodating and hats off to the hotel manager antonio for running a well oiled machine. we stayed in a classic double room for the first night then upgraded to the royal suite on the second night. the classic rooms were perfectly comfortable on their own merit, they were quite large and well appointed, the interior design was plush and grand and the bed was huge and super comfortable. the royal suite of course stole the show, it's the best room in the hotel. it has its own rooftop terrace with a hot tub and day bed with 270 degree views of the castle and mountain range in the distance. it was 100% worth the money. we spent all day up there and ordered room service so we could dine on our rooftop the only small downside of the layout of the hotel rooms is that the balconies look out onto the footpath where guests walk to get to the pool so it's not very private as people can look in however there aren't that many rooms or guests at the hotel so it was the occasional person walking by. it just means we can't leave our curtains drawn back or the balcony door open if we want the view and privacy

Outstanding, woderfull hotel, nice location and above all great staff: from front desk to restaurant, housekeeping, cuisine, and manager antonio: friendly, attentive, helpfull = the staff you‘d like to have, and very rare these days, THANKS Thanks to upgrading to a huge, very comfortable room with view to the castle. yes, its main street in front of the hotel. but capdepera is a tiny, tiny town with no traffic at all at nighttime - it was very quiet. thumbs up! in 40 years of travel business I‘ve stayed or tested numerous hotels - this one is one on the top. forget cala rajada with all those ugly tourist traps, choose caodepera instead. you win‘ regret it.

Travelled from Canada for our honeymoon and stayed three nights here in addition to Palma and Soller. This was far and beyond the most enjoyable part of our trip. The area of the island is so quiet and peaceful, and the Hotel was unlike any we have ever stayed at. Service was incredible (we received an upgraded room for our first night), and the pool and spa areas are amazing. Food and service at the restaurant, bar, and for breakfast are great, and the tasting menu at the Cova Negra restaurant was the best meal we have had in our lives. Area of Capdepara was also great, and it is a short walk from a shopping/dining area with some great restaurants there too, and a 25 minute walk from the beach in Cala Rajada. Again, blown away by the property, the experience and stay overall and cannot recommend it enough. Can't wait to come back!

Beautifully restored building with artwork, lovely furniture and quality finishings, but our room was at the front of the hotel which is on a very busy road which slightly spoils the peace and tranquility. Pool area is gorgeous, a short walk away from the hotel, with comfy sunbeds and decked area. Pool is not large, but adequate for the number of guests. We ate in the hotel restaurant, Cova Negra, twice during our 5 night stay, once on our anniversary when we had lobster. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. We had drinks in the lovely bar before & after our meal, but it was empty - only us in there - so lacked a bit of atmosphere. I’m afraid we were disappointed with the buffet breakfast, poor selection and only a few hot egg dishes and if we stayed again, don’t think we’d bother with it. The ladies on reception are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the town of Capdepera which has a beautiful castle, a few shops, bars and cafes. Nearest beach resort is Cala Rajada but it is a drive away. Only complaint was that our stay was marred slightly by the couple in room 210 who didn’t seem to care who heard their noise (and if you pick that room ask for the water to be changed in the hot tub)!

Beautiful oasis that inspires tranquility as soon as you enter the property. Beautiful spa and the most respectful, quiet pool area I've spent time at in my life, with wonderful views. A place for couples, not to go to party or be loud. Amazing staff and manager, excellent restaurant.

Lovely hotel in a very small town of capdepera. We were unlucky that the weather was terrible when we went to stay so we couldn’t take advantage of the beautiful outdoor pool, but luckily there was a small indoor heated pool with spa area which was a lifesaver for the weather. The staff were friendly, the rooms were lovely with good views of the castle. They could improve small things: the energy efficient lighting that turns off when you in are the bath or the loo are annoying, they would benefit from either changing towels daily or having radiators to dry towels in the bedrooms and finally a turndown in the evening would be nice, but otherwise a lovely hotel that feels still new and finding it’s feet

We are on the final night of our stay here and simply cannot recommend it highly enough. Spectacularly appointed, stunningly decorated throughout and immaculately clean. The local area is just beautiful, with plenty of gorgeous local restaurants nearby as well as beautiful beaches just 10 mins away. Tony and Manuela are both wonderful and have made our whole stay so special, as have the housekeeping and restaurant personnel. We have been celebrating my husband’s birthday and it has been so memorable. We were even offered a room upgrade to an even more beautiful room than the first. Gorgeous indoor and outdoor pools and gardens and so incredibly relaxing - this hotel really deserves 5 stars and we really hope to be able to return here again. You won’t regret booking Hotel Creu de Tau.

The hotel itself is very pretty, decor inside is gorgeous (it used to be a convent and school and they've kept elements of that period). Its's in the village of Arta and walking distance to the castle for sightseeing, and just 10minutes to Capdepera with lovely beaches! Our Junior Suite was beautiful, stone floors, balcony with mountain&pool views - comfortable & luxurious. The pool is in the gardens, you walk through oak woods to get there, there is a pool mrnu on each bed to order snacks/drinks. We had dinner at Cova Negra...what an experience. From start to finish the service was perfect, we had parmigiana and burrata to start, then lamb and risotto. All dishes were amazingly good! Wouldn't hesitate to go back to both restaurant and hotel!
