Jackie Grand Hotel is OK for a short business trip, especially if you intend to the historic castles at El Mina and Cape Coast. Both of these sites are UNESCO Historical Sites and should be back visited.
The hotel is a working class area, so it is bustling with various kinds of vendors selling g everything from plaintain chips to water and sodas.
The service at the hotel was average and seemed that they were under staffed. Perhaps the worse thing about my 2 night stay was the water rationing for the shower. The breakfast was an English style breakfast with a Ghanaian twist.
Apparently, these water issues can adversely impact a modest hotel like Jackie Grand Hotel. Like other establishments in Ghana, I had to ask for the basics like bottles of water.
