Owston Hall Hotel

We have just returned from a night stay and can recommend it to anyone. The suite we had was spotless ,and the bed very comfortable. The evening meal and breakfast was cooked perfect.All the staff are friendly and very efficient.Will definitely be returning.

100% recommend. Lovely surroundings, friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful room. Great value for money. Easy carparking and the location for Doncaster is just what was needed. (and they know how to keep their real ale properly - superb pint)

We were lucky enough to be given a suite for our stay, it was absolutely beautiful. Probably one of the best hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. The booking through to the service in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was wonderful. Could not have wished for a better stay. Our only disappoin**ent was we only had booked for 1 night.

Absolutely appalling service. I visited here with my friend from university for a catch-up. She now lives in Dubai and was visiting my new home. I suggested that we go for lunch here, having never been before. We both ordered a cocktail from their menu. This took above an hour to arrive. Yes, above an hour! In the meantime, the food actually arrived first which was a burger. The food was nice and wait-time was around 40 minutes which was fine. There were barely any other customers eating or drinking (I’m not surprised) as it was a rainy day. We kept reminding the waitress about our drinks. She didn’t seem like she knew what she was doing at all. In the end, the drinks were made up and then sat on the bar another 10 minutes. In the end, my friend got up out of her chair and grabbed them off the bar herself. I wish that I could say that the appalling service ended there … it did not! Upon paying, I suggested the we don’t pay for the drinks since we waited an hour for them. The waitress made us pay. I wrote an email to the hotel when I arrived home saying how disappointed I was with their hospitality. The reply was that the manager was away and would reply when he was back. After a few weeks without a reply, I wrote another email to the hotel and received a rude reply saying that I should phone the hotel if I have any issues. I wouldn’t recommend here… not unless you like waiting an hour for a drink and you want to eat your burger with a dry mouth. Sadly, I shan’t be returning for food despite the lovely, historic building and well kept grounds. Service is everything.

My wife and I stayed for three nights Friday to Monday. Very nice hotel, good size room which was very comfortable and well equipped. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Had 2 x very good bar lunches and an excellent Sunday lunch, the roast was superb and a more than substantial serving. We intend to return whenever we visit our close friends who live a few miles away..

Booked at the last minute to go to a party. Lovely room downstairs .. had an issue with the door not locking but they immediately moved us next door and gave us a drink at the bar for the inconvenience. Lovely bathroom. Spotless

My husband and I celebrated our (49th) Wedding Anniversary, with a 2 night stay, at Owston Hall Hotel. Prior to our stay, emails were answered promptly, by Reservation Manager, Sean Downing, who also very kindly upgraded our stay to the splendid suite, Blenheim. Very spacious light room, with settee, 2 arm chairs and occasional tables. The most comfortable huge bed, soft plump pillows and cosy quilt. Large en suite bathroom. (rainfall shower over bath) Heated towel rail. Lovely fluffy towels. All spotless. Breakfast and evening meals were superb. All staff very friendly, efficient and helpful. We enjoyed woodland walks around the estate, in the very cold bright dry daytime, and spent a little time in the comfortable bar/lounge areas. Work is in progress to the rear of the hotel, to expand the property, but this did not disrupt our stay, in any way. Thank you to all staff for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely return to Owston Hall, again.

A beautiful hotel with a warm welcome from all of the staff. We loved our room (Blenheim) which was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We ordered room service and the food was first class. Dropped a star only because our sleep was interrupted by very noisy neighbours, meaning we didn’t get to sleep till 2am. However, reception dealt with this quickly and on checkout, reservations manager Sean, offered us a return stay at a discounted rate. Very much appreciated and will definitely return. Would recommend. :-)
