It was a different experience, I always travel with my family but this time I decided to go to rest and be alone with my partner, which was a bit difficult for me due to different episodes I had at the hotel. As for the service of the waitresses and shop assistants, it is very good, they really make an effort to talk to the clients and make them feel like family, the cleaning is quite good, but I must say that in terms of the food it leaves a lot to be desired, most of the Cold times, without dressings to season salads or vegetables, hot juices and without sugar, there was not a day when there was butter, mayonnaise, or any other sauce to accompany food or breakfast. There is no small oven to heat a toast or a piece of bread, the lousy presentation, if I am honest there was not a day that we ate well and that is mainly due to the little management by the managers, the rather superficial supervision and the justification with all the problems that there are right now in Cuba. Serving a hot dish or a cold juice goes beyond the scarcity that there may be. The towel service for the pool practically does not work, we were waiting all day to be able to get the towels and be able to bathe, when we complained the towels appeared immediately, Unfortunately they tend to justify what was wrong with all the economic problems that exist and that we all know. You pay for a 4-star hotel and receive 2-star service to a great extent.

The location of the hotel is great. The ocean and beach are incomparable. All inclusive is not like other tourist destinations due to the nature of Cuba. Don't expect a wide variety of food. Mostly rice, chicken, fish. I liked the pineapples that were always there. Drinks ran out from time to time, but there were always two or three options to choose from. There are a lot of flies, just like everywhere else in Cuba. They try to maintain cleanliness, but still the plates had to be chosen to be cleaner, the cutlery was wiped with napkins. Room cleaning every day. The room is old, but everything looks decent. Not far from the hotel there is street food and a store (although the selection is not very large). There was a program every day, the beer was delicious, there were several cocktails to choose from, but we didn’t try them. We went to the restaurant twice (you can make an appointment at the reception at 13:00, they serve the menu for free). Excellent hotel in terms of price-quality ratio. Thanks to the service staff for the warm welcome

Al llegar al hotel el día 22 de septiembre muy bueno el recibimiento de la carpetera desde que entramos al hotel, una señora muy agradable y atenta, se solicitó la habitación sin desayuno, por suerte la modalidad en el hotel no existía con desayuno y sin embargo se oferta en las oficinas de venta. Al subir a la habitación nos dimos cuenta de que la ducha estaba rota y no había agua caliente. Nos cambiaron por cuatro habitaciones en la cual una de ella no había fuerza de agua y se mantenía sin agua caliente. El hotel tiene un estilo colonial muy bello pero se necesita una remodelación. Las habitaciones tienen olor a humedad bien fuerte. Los dos días q estuvimos en el hotel no hubo una respuesta sobre el estado del agua caliente en la habitación. Además según las normas del hotel las habitaciones se deben de limpiar, pues en esos dos días por ahí nadie hizo la limpieza.En la bañadera el desagüe estaba tupido. Recomiendo que la administración del hotel debería de revisar antes de ofertar un servicio a los turistas y visitantes. Por lo demás todo muy bien en sentido general de los trabajadores del hotel.

This September 5 we visited this hotel for celebrate my mom's birthday, Everybody was really kind and gentle with us. Bryan's Community Manager was always checking for us, the front desk ladies bring all information. Entertainment was really good, music and fun time with them. Food amazing and drinks too. The facilities were good enough for what you pay. I should not complain about the food since given the circumstances they did their best to keep us fed at all times. In fact, they offered a large variety of meat and veggies, desserts, etc. On the other hand, for heavy drinkers, this place should be an oasis since you can have access to all the alcohol you want at all times. My husband certainly loved that fact. Regarding the entertainment, the first night with dance performers was good, however, the second one with singers was not. I think they should work harder on this issue. If you want a get away from Havana, this is definetely the place to stay. A very relaxing,enjoyable spot for honey mooners or loners who simply want to have time on their own.

It was very pleasant! The team was always going above and beyond to provide us with a personalized stay. We didn’t stay at the Velasco, but we went to the bar two nights in a row because the bartenders are all so nice. Osmay, Oliver and Yanerys all know how to mix great drinks. Osmay is the best at the “Velasco,” a drink named for the famous hotel itself. It is a colorful creation that has mint and grenadine liqueurs. He also speaks perfect English and is a gifted conversationalist whose passions outside of the bar are Baseball and Fishing. Yanerys is famous for inventing the “Purple Everest Daquiri” that includes a magical combination of wines and liquors that is not only extremely tasty, but also really beautiful when properly prepared (see pictures). Oliver is a gifted mixologist with a rich appreciation of the ingredients and techniques used, and regularly creates new and innovative mixed drinks. He showed us one design utilizing multiple colored liqueurs. Needless to say, this is a fun environment. It’s a beautiful hotel lobby bar with super nice staff.
