Santuario Getsemani Hostel

I've been @ Santuario much longer than planned due to some health issue. So, I had the time to highly appreciate not only the hostel itself, the great vibe and a**osphere, the fantastic beds setup where you have plenty of space (!) plus an unusual total privacy, like you have a mini room inside a room, but especially the people: staff is great and really cares the guest, while sick I had a family like surveillance, especially Stefy "la chica del bar", Kathy (cleaning & kitchen) and Jose (maintenance) never missed supporting me and asking genuinely interested how I was feeling doing their best to help. In a difficult moment, I was in the right place, thanks them! One only thing disturbing me was, the aircon management: ok it was on only evening and night, quite usual, problem was a person feeling cold was enough to shut down the aircon for everyone... and it was hot then... i love freezing, ok, but a correct balance would be the best, suggesting who's cold to wear a t-shirt should work, and others won't sweat ;-)

Nice hostel in Getsemaní área, arrived after 11 pm and was pleasantly surprised, that reception was opened and I was able to do check in. Breakfast is included, had fruit bowl and toasts with butter/jam, if you want to add eggs you have to pay 10000 COP for it. Coffee/tea is self served and you can order juice for extra payment. Sleeping area is big, air conditioning is working over night, you have to bring your own lock. There is a space to put luggage under the bed, what was a bit dusty and dirty and a small shelf near the bed. Hostel offers some activities, but I wasn't able to check them out. Overall good experience

Dont let the pictures fool you. I have used Hostels before, but this is definitely not it .Place is a filthy dump! Smelling of dirty laundry and moldy! The bunk that was offered the roller shade for privacy was broken, and the guy was actually trying to teach me how to use it. The nerve! I immediately checked out and found somewhere else to stay.

Santuario is a very nice and clean hostel located close to San Felipe castle and Getsemani. Friendly staffing, free breakfast… we had salsa dance classes! My friend Lupita and I had a good time in this place I hope you can give a chance and come! Thank you so much!!!

Comfy bed areas, great breakfast, very friendly cleaning staff and security guard. The only issue was spraying for bugs. Toxic chemicals right where everyone's eating/sleeping. Seems like that should've been done during a week-long closure to give the chemicals time to dissipate.

I really enjoyed my stay at Santuario! I stayed in a female dorm. The dorm was nice and big, good locker-option, bathroom was good and clean. I liked the small “room” you’d get, not a tiny capsule as you could’ve feared. AC works well, breakfast is a good way to sit down with fellow travellers, and the Getsemaní-neighbourhood is such a good spot to stay with restaurants and bars close by, and an easy walk to the Walled City.

Rooms have very limited space and the washrooms are not kept clean… Some of the staff has terrible customer service. Air conditioning drains so much water that the room is flooded at some point and they don’t take care of it. They turn it on at 6 pm and off at 6 am. I think it’s todo Chili’s because the heat there can be so overwhelming due to the quantity of people that are fitted in the same room (aprox 10 ppl). Breakfast is very basic but it’s okay. Noisy area with so many chivas driving around with loud music. Ok for a couple of nights but would not stay here again.

location was great. at night on weekends it was occasionally a little loud with party buses going by. other than that muy bien
