Hotel Agathae

We arrived late in the evening and - in darkness - the hotel is almost impossible to find. Make sure you look for the large bronze (?) plaque - it is the only reasonably visible identifier you will find. Parking was adventurous. We were recommended to park, admittedly nearby, in a spot where parking was not allowed. I guess the police is very forgiving. We would leave the next morning anyway as we had a longer drive ahead. The room, on the first floor, was horrible. Yes, it had an impressively high ceiling with decorations. But a plain ugly bathroom had been crudely stuck inside that - in itself interesting - volume. We had trouble finding sockets to charge our phones, but even worse were the loose, old tiles in the middle of the room (we had to sleep in separate beds btw) - Everything was topped however by the bathroom, with absence of a shower curtain. The shower was of 1950s quality so the complete bathroom was flooded after every shower we took. The toilet seat was completely loose; a warning sign would be appropriate! Tired as we were, all this was somehow forgiveable. We would only stay a single night after all. Were it not that breakfast was rather cheap and minimal; a limited choice of mostly sweet things. This discovery was only slightly offset by the breakfast terrace itself, with views at the park (albeit not the best part). In all fairness, hotel location was good for a stroll downtown. But we weren't to stay very long. Which would help us forget this first disappointing impression of Sicilian hospitality. Fortunately, after this things would only get better!

Posizione ideale per chi vuole godersi il centro di Catania in pieno relax. Carina e confortevole la struttura,colazione varia e di qualità,personale accogliente e disponibile. Un vero peccato la mancanza di un posteggio perché quelli presenti in zona sono piuttosto cari. Ma questo piccolo particolare non scoraggerà le mie future prenotazioni. Se ci fosse un materasso più morbido...........

Ottimo Hotel per soggiornare vicino al centro di Catania, tutto il personale qualificato e molto disponibile nel consigliare la maniera più ideale per visitare la città. Ottima e abbondante colazione in terrazza. Sicuramente da tornarci.

Net hotel. Vriendelijke receptie. Je moet even zoeken waar het zit. Parkeren is lastig in de buurt. Er is vlakbij een plek voor eur20 per nacht. Ideal heet dit. De kamer is oke. Bedden slapen wel goed. Kamer is wel een beetje warm in oktober. Er is wel airco maar die koelt niet zo haar. Ontbijtbuffet is goed. Redlijk gesorteerd.

Albergo in un antico e datato palazzo al secondo piano con scale strette e ripide (ma tutto evidenziato dal sito) condiviso con inquilini privati. Punto di forza la gentilezza degli addetti alla reception e dei dipendenti e la pulizia estrema, cosa essenziale nella scelta di un soggiorno. Camera un pò buia. Colazione fai-da-te appena sufficiente con una mancanza imperdonabile però, l'assenza della disponibilità di caffè decaffeinato o latte non intero. Niente bar. Rapporto qualità/prezzo alto, credo che in questo caso faccia la differenza l'ubicazione in Via Etnea. Voto 7

Siamo arrivati in 4 e con un bambino di 3 anni e sin dal primo momento siamo stati ben accolti, abbiamo notato la gentilezza e cortesia del personale e dei proprietari, minuziosi e scrupolosi nel cercare di essere sempre presenti e a disposizione per ogni piccolo nostro bisogno. La colazione proposta é stata piacevole con vari tipi di cornetti, brioches, torte, frutta, yogurt, caffè etc etc… Par la cena abbiamo provato il ristorante dell’hotel e siamo stati veramente bene e abbiamo mangiato prodotti buoni e di qualità, ottime le pizze e anche il menu a base di pesce (fresco). L’hotel dispone pure di una bella piscina pulita e con possibilità di sedersi ai bordi grazie alla presenza di ombrelloni, sedie e sdraio. Il mare si trova circa ad 1 km facile da raggiungere dall’hotel. Per noi un’ottima esperienza e l’anno prossimo probabilmente ritorneremo.

J'ai réservé une chambre à l'hôtel Agathaé du 20 au 23 juin 2020. Suite à la crise sanitaire et l'annulation des vols, j'ai demandé à deux reprises à l'hôtel le report de ma réservation (du 03 au 06 octobre 2020, puis du 08 au 11 mai 2021) Ces reports ont été à chaque fois annulés à cause toujours de la crise sanitaire (annulation du vol Toulouse ＞ Catane) J'ai sollicité à titre exceptionnel une demande de remboursement et l'équipe de l'hôtel (MERCI Signara Stella). Elle a été vraiment très compréhensive en me remboursant ma réservation. Je n'ai donc pas eu l'opportunité de me rendre dans cet hôtel, mais ce que je peux dire, c'est qu'ils ont fait preuve d'une très grande compréhension et honnêteté. Merci beaucoup à eux.
