One Shot Palácio Cedofeita

It is amazing to see the transformation of this hotel - photos of the hotel before it's restoration adorn the walls around the hotel and they have done an incredible job. The dining room is quite staggeringly beautiful. I just hope that the rest of the rather run down area in which it is located undergoes a similar transformation. You leave the hotel grounds to be greeted with derelict buildings and empty shop units. It is at the **** end of a pedestrianised street which eventually leads to much nicer areas. Indeed if I were to return to Porto I'd be aiming to stay a little further south and probably closer to the river. You should note that if you book a room with a balcony beware - I love a balcony - I generally spend far too much holiday time sitting on a balcony waiting for my wife to get ready to go out. Apparently the 'terrace' we had was a balcony. I can only deduce that the Portuguese word for terrace and balcony are the same as the staff at the front desk were insistent that we had a balcony room. We were feet away from the pool sunbathers with no privacy whatsoever and kept our curtains drawn most of the time. I also assumed that I might be able to take advantage of the roof terrace above the new block before venturing out in the evening however this area has been abandoned and looks about as inviting as The Mary Celeste. Would I go to Porto again - Yes. Would I stay here again - No.

We enjoyed our stay enormously at this beautiful hotel . We were welcomed very warmly by Victoria and her team and their service was impeccable! The hotel environment is very calm and peaceful.. The breakfast selection is well planned by the chef and team and we enjoyed the breakfast spread . We had dinner at the palatial dining room/restaurant and the menu selection was impressive and the food was exquisite ie fine dining . Price was reasonable. The restaurant staff are helpful and friendly. The location is well placed and the city centre is just 15 minutes walk away . We will definitely recommend this hotel to family or friends visiting Porto.

This hotel is the place to stay in Porto! Our room had a nice balcony facing the outdoor pool. Breakfast is quite good and the restaurant itself is amazing, they told us that it used to be the music hall of this palace, Portuguese original tiles are everywhere. We walked to the main sites of Porto. We'll be back!

The hotel is located in an old palace. Every detail, every corner, is stunning, and you can tell it has a carefully thought-out design. The staff is super attentive and always available to help you. During my stay, I enjoyed the gym, sauna, and pool. I recommend having breakfast at the hotel and visiting the grand hall. IT WILL SURPRISE YOU!

This hotel is in a quiet location a lovely walk from the centre passing many little bars and eateries. The rooms are tastefully designed with fresh modern interiors. Make sure you include your breakfast for your stay the restaurant is a magnificent room. The breakfast food offerings are varied and delightful. We enjoyed our stay here and loved the location.

I spent four nights in the hotel recently and would throughly recommend to other travellers. The staff were exceptionally friendly and kind and went out of their way to answer any questions or help with any queries efficiently. There is a 10 minute walk into town, but once you factor this into the day it's fine. And there are nice restaurants locally if you would rather not walk back into town in the evening. The pool area is nice and the room very comfortable and clean. I'd stay here again if I were to return to Porto and would recommend to others.

A beautiful hotel in a great location of Porto. Front desk staff were exceedingly kind upon check in. Restaurant was elegant and food excellent. Rooms were pleasant and modern. Very friendly staff throughout the property. A signed letter from the general manager, Barbara, was a welcoming touch when we arrived. Not only recommend highly, but will be my first choice upon return to Porto.

Unfortunately, this place does not justify its price. My husband and I, along with another couple, arrived in the evening and decided to dine at the hotel restaurant. We were eager to kick off our holiday with a glass of champagne. However, despite having at least five different options listed on the menu, they only had the most expensive one available. As a result, we had to forgo the champagne. Later, after the dinner, we wanted to enjoy a 30-year-old port wine. To our disappointment, the staff informed us that they had only one portion left. Adding to our woes, the Wi-Fi didn’t work on our first evening here. And now, during breakfast, we’ve been waiting for our coffee for over 30 minutes. The same happened yesterday. Surprisingly, everyone who arrived after us has already received their coffee. It’s evident that the breakfast staff is understaffed.
