Bastion House

Very comfy rooms. Love the decor and tranquil gardens. The Breakfast Very good. Lovely fruit selection you don't often get fresh figs and raspberries. The staff are efficient and friendly, especially Johanna.

We had an awesome stay at Bastion house. Family with two kids, duplex with bathroom facilities on both levels, so plenty of space. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, super clean. Beds are huge and cozy. Honestly slept better and more comfortably than at my own house! The breakfast was beautifully prepared and has a lovely variety. Has a coutyard with small tables and chairs to relax, a cool oasis with exquisite plants. Will never stay in another place in Pretoria after being spoilt like this.

Antoinette is such a lovely lady, she makes sure her guest are well taken care off. The food was delicious. The place is very safe to stay in. It was so quiet around the neighborhood and it was a great stay .

Amazing! The decor is phenomenal. The rooms are great. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended! Take a walk around the whole property and view all the wonderful quirks. Thank you for such a lovely stay

I've enjoyed my stay at Bastion House. The a**osphere was calm, peaceful and the owners were excellent hosts very helpful with a broad knowledge of the area. I will definitely include Bastion House in my future travel plans.

I have mostly good to report about Bastion but a few little improvements can be made too. Good : Very near to Pretoria so not a long drive from there or Joburg for a rest The owners are very warm, welcoming and accommodating The beds and pillows are divine! The room is clean and tidy. Rustic design and furnishings which is interesting. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore in the rather wild garden. Parking inside the gate so safe and property seems to be very safe as well. You can braai your own food there or order dinner BEFORE 11AM that morning. Not so good : No privacy as the doors to the rooms are mainly glass and so have to close the blinds alot of the time. The room next door is very close by. Not for romance! I did specify in my requests if the room had an aircon and it did not. Had a very good standing fan. This is no 7, No 1,2,3 seemed to have standing aircons. Luckily we had cool weather. The TV remote was a bit stuck at times, hard to change channels -good variety of channels to watch Towels smelt a bit damp to me but could have been due to rainy weather. Room 7 and the ones there are near to a main road so peak times a bit noisy. I had expected a marvelous breakfast due to the reviews and although it was great, there was not enough variety. 1 cereal, 1 juice, no mushrooms, tomato etc, but a lovely plate of salad, cheese and avo. In all, Bastion is very nice to just have a bit of a rest, or to stay if on business or if there is an occasion nearby. It has a lovely ambience, is peaceful and the water features are a win. The garden next door is beautiful so that was a great view from no 7. Thanks to the owners for being so warm and welcoming.

Excellent and interesting place. It suited out needs to the T. We will return in future. Hosts are personally on site. Breakfast served outside under veranda. Attention to detail and good coffee completed the experience on 5 star level!

Everything is perfect and nothing is impossible. The most accommodating hosts and staff and any reasonable request is attended to and executed. I will recommended this place for any type of stay. Personal, family, romantic or business.

The place is beautifully decorated and the staff are very friendly. The rooms are clean and the garden is beautiful. They even went out of their way to cater for our vegan diets. Would highly recommend.
