It is very possible to encounter deer, foxes, and birds. More elusive mountain lions, bears, elk, and moose are in the area as well. Please be cautious, do not feed wildlife, and be bear aware! No coolers outside, food and drinks left outside overnight, or unlocked cars with food in them. NEIGHBORHOOD: We are located in a very small community far off the beaten path. There is plenty of privacy to be had, but we do have neighbors and adhere to a quiet hours policy. The drive to the house is about 20 minutes off of the highway, with windy breathtaking views of a mountain valley and local ranches. We are not close to grocery stores and recommend stopping in Conifer on the way in. Our limited restaurants can be seasonal and suggest calling ahead. Internet/Phone ReceptionWe have the fastest internet our location allows, which is typically plenty of bandwidth to support streaming and working from home. But with that said, the bandwidth can vary a bit which unfortunately is out of our control. We have never had an issue streaming though. Cell service varies by carrier. AT&T is by far the strongest (5G) but Verizon does work too. Winter ConditionsWinter in the Rockies last a bit longer and the weather can change very quickly. We do require guests to have a FWD or AWD vehicle that can handle snow Oct-May and suggest it all other times as well. The roads leading to the cabin are paved and plowed until about 100 ft before the cabin. We do our best to keep our driveway clear of snow, but it's not always possible. We do not provide refunds for cancellation due to weather and driving conditions. Light shoveling of the path leading up to the home may be required including the patio during winter months. FiresCharcoal grills and outdoor wood fires are ALWAYS strictly prohibited. Any evidence of such will result in a large fine and possible jail time. We have provided an outdoor gas grill and firepit for your use. The firewood is only to be burned indoors inside the sealed wood fired stove. Eco-FriendlyWe want to preserve the planet and all the beautiful spots in the world just like this so we do our best to have eco-friendly practices whenever possible.
