Staindrop Lodge Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

Booked a 3 course meal for two with drinks thru woucher (£41). When we first arrived abit apprehensive as was really empty but staff really friendly and as it turned out food was fantastic would recommend for food the bar was getting busy as we left thumbs up.

Great welcome, room good size, plenty of electric points, clean and airy, bed really comfortable with great pillows. Bathroom spacious and clean toiletries and towels provided. TV connected to WiFi great choice of programs to watch. Food and service exceptional. Will return and recommend.

I went for a few night with the Mrs and the staff was okay just a little bit stuck up when u asked for something it was like talking to a brick wall the hotel is not in a good place they is nothing around it to do so if u wanting to do stuff this is not the hotel to go for we was drinking other night and I felt rushed as they was all stood round us like wanting us to go when they was not officially shut when u look on the google it tells they shut at that time and they closed earlier the walls are so thin and we had a few sleepless nights due to constant noise on corridors and neighbours tv was so loud the shower is too small and the bath is too small and in the bedrooms u would thought they would be a table to eat some dinner on they is are even a sofa to watch tv on it the windows was so mucky I couldn’t stand at the window for fresh air as I would be covered in dust bed day we went for our breakfast and we payed £10 we thought that was abit dear we asked for a menu has the website says. They do different stuff was told it’s a full English and that’s it so the website is false advertising and should be updated we got our food to use he never came back to ask if our meals was okay are anything he just walked off back in the kitchen and we didn’t even eat most of it as it was abit rubbery and we so him on is phone in the kitchen so if u want a bad experience come here But it’s poor

Hotel in a terrible location only a few pubs around it had to travel to get to main places. Room was way too big needs updating and new furniture in it as it was a bit out of date. Bath was a bit small. Staff were ok. Wouldn’t recommend. Breakfast wasn’t worth the tenner you had to pay plus every time went to the bar the drinks were a different price went for second round and they tried to charge an extra £2 quid. Scandalous

Staff were friendly, but you get what you pay for. Unfortunately the website shows some amazing food / breakfasts, but this was not the case Breakfast is a full English or nothing - someone sent sausages back as they weren't cooked properly, and I nor were the fried eggs (my son had offered to take us for breakfast and I wish I had taken him up on it). I woke looking forward to an Eggs Benedict. When I asked if there were any alternatives I was told no. No cold buffet or anything else. The website needs updating, at the least. Same with the evening food - very poor choice compared to the websites offerings. Room was very large and empty - had to ask for a chair and hairdryer. States soundproofed walls, but sadly unable to sleep because neighbouring room had TV on until late

After reading the negative reviews I felt I had to give this place a chance. The customer service was brilliant - really friendly and willing to go out of their way to make you happy. The rooms are decent and hotel itself well proportioned. The communal areas could have been cleaner, but it was a decent experience for the price.

Dangerously dirty. First room(37) was unusable had to request a move . Dirt everywhere at hazerdous levels . Bedside tables, sofa and bath the worst but whole room covered in dirt . Under bed months of dirt including multiple dirty tissues rotting orange and three pens . Reception said cleaner was busy day before. Considerably more than a days dirt. Bath so bad would be serious risk of illness or legionnaires if using . Had to move bed to identify whether the white stains all down bedside were also on mattress. Staff did move us to another room (12a) without fuss but did not take cleanliness levels seriously. New room better but still filthy . Bathroom dangerous mold levels , sofa covered in multiple stains, lamp with glass shade that wasn't secured and fell off and shattered when turning on switch , bidet that ran constantly with boiling hot water and tap was too loose to turn off, one towel for two people, tea tray not refilled from last person so no tea . They're just the top list of things! All in all the worst hotel I've stayed at. Staff seemed apathetic whilst we were there Every guest we passed in reception was there to complain or raise concerns (multiple of them). We are not overly fussy people and understand it is not possible to get things perfect every time . Worn tired decor, furniture and carpets etc we do not mind but this was beyond that and especially in current climate where cleaning is even more important.

Room booked true wowcher.Com. So sorry I didn't look at rewies, 99% rewies tells to avoid this place. Hotel Not welcoming. Carpet coverd in stains same as sofa. Dirty handles, light switches, kattle. Fire alarm 2am, cigarette smoke smell in hallway. All hotel smells of puke. Worst experience.

Hiya Visited today mothers day for afternoon tea gift ? Truthfully no attempt was made to make the experience special flowers table nice little extra ok i didnt expect alot for the price but one of those places dark dingy no atmosphere you just want to eat and get out? It appears the staff polite trying to make most of what they got but honestly a few nice touches makes such a difference The actual afternoon tea white bread no choice of brown shop bought pastries up the price chatge abit more a litle extra touches or forget it all together hope this is constructive critism ?
