Arrive at 11 pm after driving all day ,in room NO towels ,wash clothes, bath mat , or bath towels..NO SOAP, SHAMPOO , BODY WASH ..Not sure what was going on with housekeeping staff..It's a Marriott ! , won't be there again..Curtains falling off curtain tracks...***???

This place is not fit to be a part of the Marriott chain. Everything was poor, from the hotel manager to the facility. The rooms smelled of smoke and the hotel refused to honor a rate secured online several months before. The hotel manager Mr. Sessoms was not only rude, but is a blatant liar. The staff made several unauthorized holds on my credit cards, which caused serious issues. Correspondences to the General Manager Carlton Sessoms, went unanswered. His staff claimed that unauthorized holds could not be found on record. My credit card companies have clear proof on their end that thousands of dollars were being held by the hotel. Six days later they were still not released. We were forced to check out early, and the hotel completely ruined what was expected to be a joyous weekend.

Please Read - Stay away. The place is a dump and the level of depravity and incompetence is remarkable. Let me. start from the beginning, In a sequence of actions and findings that reviewers will find easy to follow. (1) I booked this room 11 months in advance, yet a day before I was to check in, the General Manager - Mr. Carlton Sessoms informed me that the rates would have to change because I was given a long term (lower) rate, when I booked with reservations and that should not have been allowed. He changed my rate without my request. Please note again that this rate was secured Marriott Bonvoy reservations 11 months prior and he refused to honor it. (2) I reached out to Marriott Bonvoy reservations and was told that I did book early enough to secure that rate for the time booked, and they undid his rate change. (3) I should have known better than to stay, because the GM Mr. Carlton Sessoms was extremely rude and abrasive. I checked in anyway, only to be notified by email the following morning that the GM - Mr. Carlton Sessoms, again over-rode the Marriott reservations rate. (4) In adding insult to injury, it appears (not certain) that Mr. Carlton Sessoms instructed his staff to place several holds on my credit cards to the tune of over $9,000. (4) At this point I was unaware of the impact until I received an alert to state that my credit card was at max limit. I was in Charlotesville to attend my son's graduation and was forced to cancel a dinner to celebrate my son. The rooms reeked of tobacco smoke, when I checked in, I visited the front desk but was told that no other rooms were available. (5) Multiple correspondences to Mr. Carlton Sessoms went unanswered and I checked out of the hotel in the middle of the night not knowing where my family and I would be staying. It has been six days later and there are still several authorisation holds on my account that amount to over $7,800, with only a few having been released. The General Manager is blaming the credit card company with no admission of guilt on his side. There is so much more, but I am warning everyone - STAY AWAY.

Clean newer Marriott, easy access off the highway, area is a safe, lots of restaurants to choose from with if walking or driving distance, check in was quick, room was quiet, staff were very nice, good breakfast with plenty of variety, free parking

The staff were very welcoming. We dropped our belongings in the room and headed out for dinner. There were a lot of options close by. When we got back we noticed a hot chocolate and tea area. A lovely touch. The room was very clean but the bed was atrocious! It sunk in the middle. We kept falling into each other during the night. It took me 5 minutes of warm up stretching to be able to stand upright the next morning. Also the refrigerator made a weird high pitched noise. I almost unplugged it.

No channel guide for TV available in room. No extra blankets or pillows in the room as most hotels have. AC did not work efficiently.

We were in town for a wedding and checked in late at night. Really nice lobby and front desk staff, and the parking was easy. We were given a bag at check in with water and snacks, which was a nice surprise! When we entered our room, we were met with a strong smell of urine. The room appeared to have been cleaned until we looked in the shower and saw visible black and pink mold stains all over the floor. We were exhausted and decided to make do for the night. The next morning, we went to the front desk and explained what we found. The clerk was very kind and apologetic, and she got us set up in the room right next to our original one. She even said we could check the new room to make sure we felt good about it first. We really appreciated her for helping us out! That being said, the new room was definitely an improvement, but it is clear these rooms are due for remodeling. There are lots of visible stains on the carpets throughout the room. The shower floor looked mostly clean, but was desperately in need of resurfacing. One of the toilet pipes was dripping, so we had to put a towel down. We also found several ants near the bathroom and fridge. Breakfast in the morning had good variety during our stay, which was nice! Because of the state of the rooms, we probably wouldn’t stay at this location again. With updated rooms this would be such a great hotel!

Staff was amazing. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was because the bed was pretty uncomfortable. Also, room service came in and took all the dirty towels and didnt leave clean ones so we had no towels left in our room, we had to go downstairs to get some from the front desk. Other than that, hotel is pristine and staff is AMAZING

Stayed here for a 3 day weekend visiting our daughter at UVA. Comfy bed, decent breakfast and coffee was always hot and strong. Will stay here again.
