Resort Hotel El Cortijo Spa

Disappointed ! The hotel is off the main road on a unpaved street, if you arrive at night, like we did, almost impossible to find. The GPS coordinate on Google are wrong, when you arrive at the roundabout, look at your right and you will see a small sign and a dirt road, drive up and you will find the hotel. Reception lady friendly, but took forever to check in, room big but very basic, Internet was not working and no phone in the room. After getting to our room, 111 we discover that only one towel was there and that we had no PW for the Internet (that later we find out was not working "connected without internet"), water was cold and shower was not draining.... . No phone in the room, so I had to dress up again and walk, quite a distance to the reception..... after 5 minutes they gave us a small towel and 2 bathrobes and they told us will send someone to fix the water/shower, it is now 11 pm, and honstly i would like to sleep but.... . A repair man arrived but problem not solved! In the morning water still cold and shower not draining. Breakfast was great (at least something good) but the property, potentially great, feels a bit run down.

The hotel was disappointing. Our initial room had broken windows, making it cold. The second room, likely meant for staff, was dusty, mouldy, and had cockroaches. The bathroom leaked with no hot water. After a second complaint, we were moved to a third room with intact windows and hot water, but the towels were dirty and torn. Breakfast had a limited selection and poor quality, served in a restaurant with an unpleasant smell.

Today i ordered tajine chicken with olives for lunch it was awful the same for roasted chicken and cesar salade. The chiken have no taste and they weren’t well cooked, the mojitos were prepared with cheap ingredients which is reflected in the tasteMoreover the stuff is not professional at all so i rate ur gastronomy 2/10 i will never eat there again.

Could be a great hotel. Located just 5 min from Chefchouan, on a hill, easy access. However, it looks hotel went down during covid and is starting to wake up now. Nice location, nice hotel, but most of fountains do not work, gardens are not well cared, pool is not working. Rooms are ok, but a bit dirty and it is a mix of Ikea furniture with traditional furniture. Could be a great place, but needs remodeling. Breakfast is very good.

Don't come here during winter time. You can frozzen There isn't heating in the bathroom and the water isn't hot! But you can find and absolutely unuseful cheminy ( without fire of course) in your room. The restaurant is not bad, but nothing special. Maybe is better in other seasons

Our stay in the hotel/ranch was a pleasant experience except we encountered some field roaches. But we cleared them. Our dressing table and porch lights were not working. It is a beautiful rustic architecture with an old charm and reminds me of a “Spanish Hacienda” with few stable and horses.
