YHA London Lee Valley

Very quickly made cups of tea for all of us late this afternoon when we passed by on the way to the station at the end of our walk. Cannot fault them, great service. And the tea was very reasonably priced too. Would definitely drop in for a cup of tea again if our walking club happens to be walking in the area on another occasion.

I wasn't really sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The lodges are so pretty and offer a calm and peaceful retreat. The room and en suite were spotlessly clean The breakfast was tasty and great value for money. It is short walk to the station which takes you straight into central London, but you are far enough away that the trains don't wake you. It really is a great place to stay and I would definitely stay again.

Lee Valley YHA is well located, can be accessed on foot from the Lea Valley walk. The lodges have private en suite rooms as well as dormitories and a shared kitchen for self catering. The breakfast is great!

Staff were freindly and extremely helpful. Room was basic but comfortable. Experience was tainted by an occupent upstairs who proceeded to bang on his floor for some time. I contacted reception to complain and the noise did seem to subside after and staff cant be held to account for guests behaviour. Nonetheless, it did spoil my experience and is reflected in this review.

Had awfull experience… completely waste of money … have no privacy as 1 of stuff walked in the room without knocking. So embarrassing…then they belive on there stuff not the customer based on stuff statement when he excepted on the spot he made mistake and should have knock the door 1st.. Also bed bags there. Will never go again …such a waste of time and of course money as well… sooo disappointed ..please avoid….

A good place to stay and stop by for coffee, but be aware that the hostel manager (leea) is extremely rude and unfriendly. Her tone, language and how she look down on people is just disturbing. Me and my friends will never going to return to this hostel.

We booked a private family room for or family including 2 boys aged 9 and 12 years. We were supposed to get a room with a double bed and a set of bunks but instead got 2 sets of bunks. The radiator was dropping off the wall, smoke detector hanging from the ceiling, light switches collapsing into the wall with cold air blasting in through the gap. The ceiling had crumbling paint and the shower area was grubby. Whilst we appreciate that this is a hostel and therefore facilities in the room would be basic we did expect them to be more in tune with the £120 charge for the night. This was significantly more expensive than a family room at the travel lodge down the road but we made the choice to book the YHA assuming that conditions of the room whilst basic, would be comfortable and looked after. We were wrong. To top it all, the rest of the rooms in the lodge seemed to have been let out to a large family group who at 9.30pm decided to have a birthday party in the communal kitchen right next to our room. This party went on until gone 11.30pm. We know that communal living is part if the YHA experience but surely you don't let the bulk of a lodge out to one family then place another in the room right next to the kitchen. The setting was lovely but we will not be back.

As soon as we arrived Lloyd the gorgeous YHA team member made us feel so much at home by her beautiful & impeccable customer service with a smile. She helped me with my printing which she didn't need to do at all. Thank you so much Lloyd my darling! I highly recommend this YHA due to their great hospitality & their customer service is second to none, along with the location.

I spent a few days at Lee Valley YHA at the start of October. A lovely place, which consists of a main building and some large accommodation chalet type cabins outside, each with their own self serve kitchen, which was kept spotlessly clean. A very well run youth hostel and high standards are clearly important. The staff were very polite, extremely helpful and welcoming. I had a private room, with an en suite shower. It was spotlessly clean throughout. It is located in a perfect location near to Cheshunt BR station, so access to London is on the doorstep and Cheshunt town centre is about a 15 minute walk away. Also the canal and park are just across the road from the YHA front entrance. I spent my time cycling along the canal path, southwards to Waltham Abbey and the Olympic park and North towards Broxbourne . You can't get lost, if you follow the canal ...........( so I thought ! ) Weather was perfect and I had a perfect stay to 'blow away some cobwebs' and have a 'recharge'. Thank you to everyone at YHA Lee Valley for a great few days. Keep doing what you're doing !!
