Can't fault the staff, room or location. Can't even fault them for the out of service lifts yesterday, after having a issue with one guest, who we are guessing set a fire in the lift, and smashed up all the doors on the second floor. Will come back again, and hopefully will be a bit of a quieter day for all.

A great trip and the perfect location for a short stay. My son and I were in town for an FA Cup Fixture. We both really enjoyed the town, the people, and the hotel was just perfect. The staff were just first class and secure parking just opposite was a bonus. The hotel a converted co op department store - really looks the part too!

We stayed here two nights 8th and 9th November in room 111 on first floor right by reception, the restaurant and the lift (great room for people with mobility issues). This is an economy hotel, we paid a little over £80 for two nights, which is cheap in our view, and so expectations aren't that high. However, we couldn't have been so wrong. Everything about the room was a ten/ten apart from one bath towel was thin and I can't find anything else to moan about. The lifts were good, reception team and bar were brilliant and went above and beyond what I expected. It would have been nice if the hotel had a car park but then they didn't have a helipad or swimming pool or free bar either. I can say here that when I go again to Chesterfield I won't shop around but will just book here again. I would never say that but it has left me so impressed they have won my trust.

The staff here were so helpful and friendly it really made it a lovely stay. The lady who helped me check in went out of her way to help with the online screen check in. It was clean in the room and restaurant and the breakfast was delicious. The Halloween sweets on arrival for the children and the kids welcome packs in the room were really appreciated by them. The bar staff were friendly and helpful too, nothing was too much trouble. The staff really make this place a lovely stay and the room was great too. With tea coffee hairdryer, comfy beds.

Would have been 5 stars....... They only have Duvets of Tog 10 and we found these too hot to sleep under - even with the room temperature turned down. No alternatives were available so unfortunately a bad night sleep. Otherwise everything was really good. The whole hotel looks and feels brand new. Food and service was great. Staff were great. If you are not fussed about your Duvet - then highly recommend them. If you are fussed about your duvet - bring your own blankets? As they don't have any alternatives at all :-(

Very friendly staff on checking in and departure. Room was comfortable and clean. Had evening meal and the steak was cooked to perfection. Breakfast was fresh, hot and tasted excellent. The lady waitress with red hair was very helpful and pleasant to talk to. Staff couldn't of done enough for us. Found housekeeping to be chatty and paid attention to guests in the corridors.
