This place was beautiful! The view was spectacular snow capped mountains,glacier and flowers! This was out our window unit #9. Some places say they have views but this place really does. This place was clean and well stocked with shampoos and lotion. Beds were clean and comfortable

Beautifully set in the mountains with 360 degree picture views, with lots of outdoor seating on the deck. Log cabin dining and reception area are very charming. The breakfast buffet has typical warm food options such as eggs, meats and potatoes, and also fresh fruit, baked goods, granola, yogurt, and espresso drinks. There is also a nice bar and 4 beers on tap. The outdoor hot tub was perfect after a hike. It’s a 15 minute drive to Matanuska Glacier, where we did a glacier hike. And the staff were amazing. They made you feel welcome, were accommodating, and gave good tips and ideas for things to do in the area. There is also a fire pit outside - a great place to get cozy at sunset.

An outstanding lodge in the wilderness. After some minor hiccups, the staff went out of their way to ensure our experience at the lodge was an excellent one. Food was very good and it had a well stocked bar. Lovely walks (although, unfortunately, we didn’t see the elusive moose but I’m assured they are there). Highly recommended

Hubby and I enjoyed our 2 night stay at this lodge. The views were beautiful. We were out most of the day and our dinners were in nearby restaurants. But, we did enjoy their breakfast buffet. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I enjoyed a glass of wine on their deck in the evening while enjoying the views. The room reminded me of cabins in the national parks we visited, it was clean and comfy. We had 2 beds and a bathroom, there was a public area with the fridge and a keurig coffee maker. I would stay again.

We communicated with the Lodge ahead of time because we have a daughter in a heavy electric wheelchair and knew there were no ADA rooms. Via Zoom with Anthony we were able to choose the room closest to what we need. Njord, the owner, built a long outside ramp to the lobby/main-room on the second floor, just for us. He also modified the entrance to our room for access. The staff was wonderful. The chef does magic with the local salmon. And the views incredible. Very fun and relaxing place with family.

The views from the lodge alone are worth the stay here. Absolutely stunning! We stayed for the dinner which we had no idea what they would be serving. It was salmon and risotto. Neither of us eat salmon but we tried it and liked it. The rooms were small but not a bad place to stay. Linens were clean. Shower had hot water. The bed could use an update, it wasn’t very comfortable, but it worked. There is a sweet dog that was on the property.

We had a very nice stay, the food was very good, staff was really great and fun to talk to. Probably the best deck I have ever had a cocktail on, the view was spectacular. The room was clean and comfortable.

This place has so much potential. The view is incredible, the property is beautiful, and the lodge itself was great. We stayed in the main lodge and were happy with the experience. That being said, they advertised there would be a fire pit every night on their website. We asked about it and they refused to allow a fire pit because “they had just cut up wood for a wedding the next weekend” (this was a Wednesday). There wasn’t a manager there the entire time we were there, so we tried to say that our bed was broken (the boxspring totally down on one side) when we checked out but still there wasn’t someone available. They offered a very delicious dinner and breakfast (not included but a fair price). The service at these was awful, especially at dinner where the bartender fiddled around with a too long wine list and had no idea what to do when I ordered some wine. This place has so much potential to be one of the premier resorts of Alaska, not even in the area. My family and I were just so disappointed because we were looking for a relaxed, lodge experience and definitely didn’t get it.
