Chateau Murdock Gite et Esthétique 1950

On our vacation touring around Quebec we stayed for one night in this wonderful, historic house. We had a warm welcome by the lovely owners, Nathalie and François. They made us feel at home once we entered the house. The decoration and our room were unique: cozy, clean and with very nice details. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfast prepared by Nathalie and the coffee art by François… especially the “barista exchange”. A clear recommendation. It was sad that we had to leave already after one night. Thanks for everything!

We very much enjoyed our three-night stay here. Natalie is an excellent host. She made us very comfortable and she was extremely helpful in directing us to several things--a hike, a zoo, a whale watch--that we probably wouldn't have found on our own. She recommended and made reservations for us at restaurants that we thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was clean and comfortable and there was a nice breakfast in the morning, including excellent lattes from her husband. Travelers can use this accommodation as a good base for exploring the beautiful Saguenay Fjord.

We were very happy with our three night stay, and would be glad to return when in the area. Our room was called Chateau Lavardens. It has a spacious sitting room in addition to the bedroom and extra space next to the vintage bathroom. We also liked the large closets. There is a beautiful dining room for breakfasts, and the option to have specialty coffees, and a choice of menu items. Nathalie accommodated our lack of French language fluency, and gave recommendations for places to see. There are two cats which kept their distance from us. The grounds of the property are also very nice and spacious.

You can tell that the couple who is the owner and the management of this hotel puts their hearts into this place. It is beautiful! And on top of that, everything is taken care of to its finest details, towels, bedding, lighting, everything. There is a history to the chateau and I am glad the owners have taken up the responsibility to keep it alive. We stayed in the room on the ground floor called St Exupéry so there is a bit of fantasy touch. Would love to try another style another time!

Nous avons fait une halte au Château Murdock pour une nuit avec nos deux enfants, et nous en garderons un excellent souvenir ! La gentillesse et l’attention des propriétaires est au top, afin de nous mettre à l’aise très vite. Nous espérons y revenir et profiter de leurs installations en cours.

Magnifique endroit! Tout le charme souhaité. Piscine extérieure accessible. Que dire du superbe déjeuner de Nathalie et de l’excellent café de François. Des hôtes exceptionnels! Merci à eux! Nous reviendrons bientôt; peut-être cet hiver.

C’est une demeure un peu vieillotte mais pleine de charme assez proche du centre, avec un petit jardin agréable. La décoration nous projette dans le passé. Les hôtes sont charmants, pleins de bons conseils. Petit déjeuner très bon (du vrai bon café ;-) et des tartines grillées avec de la confiture maison (on peut aussi prendre des viennoiseries).

Nous avons eu l'impression immédiate d'être chez des proches, tant l'accueil de Nathalie et François a été amical. Les deux tourtereaux connaissent bien leur région et leurs conseils ont été précieux. Que ce soit pour aller visiter l'intéressant musée du Fjord comme de nous balader à Ste Rose du Nord, ou encore de trouver un bon restaurant pour "souper". Leur maison est confortable, bien située, au milieu de la verdure mais à quelques centaines de mètres du centre ville. Mais elle est surtout très chaleureuse, avec un excellent petit déjeuner.
