Wutai Mountain
MM14***16In early November 2024, it was snowing in Wutai Mountain. It was so cold. I saw the Golden Mountain in Rizhao. Dabao, who was in her second year of high school, asked me to pray for her a good score in the college entrance examination. She said that she couldn't come in her third year of high school, so she was just cramming. To be honest, the experience was average. The homestay in the scenic area was very mature and not expensive. The cost of our stay was less than 200 yuan during the week. I have to complain about the breakfast in the scenic area. The porridge was really thin, and I definitely couldn't stand chopsticks. I bought the ticket on WeChat "Holy Land Service". The tour guide included in the ticket explained 3 temples. To be honest, it was average. He just wanted you to buy incense. I didn't know much about Buddhism. After a few simple chats, people said that I was not here to pray but to visit, so they ignored me. I regretted that I should have spent money to hire a more professional tour guide. You must make an appointment to drive up. If you can't make an appointment, you can only take the bus. The bus is available 24 hours a day, and it is not as rare as the owner of the homestay said. As for whether to spend 200 to find a scalper to drive the car up, consider it yourself. For tourists like me, one day of sightseeing is enough, because I feel that these temples look very similar.
Wuye Temple

The five masters worshipped in the temple are the legendary Guangji Dragon King Bodhisattva, which is the product of Wenshu Bodhisattva's localization and secularization in Taihuai, relying on people's wish to harvest crops, no disasters, family health, and everything goes well. Folk legend Wu Ye was originally black face, but Wenshu Bodhisattva became a five dragon king in order to help all beings, so the black face became a golden face. Wenshu Bodhisattva became a five dragon king like to watch the play, so he built an ancient stage opposite the five dragon king palace, specially for the five master.
Shuxiang Temple
Ffcy911When you come to Mount Wutai, visiting temples is essential. Mount Wutai is full of temples, and it is also a unique place where yellow temples (Tibetan Buddhism) and green temples (Han Buddhism) coexist. The five peaks of Mount Wutai (Dongtai Wanghai Peak, Nantai Jinxiu Peak, Zhongtai Cuiyan Peak, Xitai Guayue Peak, Beitai Yedou Peak) are like five fingers, and the center of the palm is Taihuai Town, where most of the temples are also located. Many people who come here in a hurry often come to the temples here in Taihuai Town.
Shuxiang Temple, together with Xiantong Temple, Tayuan Temple, Pusa Ding, and Luohou Temple, is one of the top ten temples in the green temples of Mount Wutai.
Shuxiang Temple, named after the statue of Manjusri Bodhisattva, is said to have been built in the Tang Dynasty, expanded in the Yuan Dynasty, and later destroyed by fire. It was restored in the sixth year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty.
The most famous part of Shuxiang Temple is the Wenshu Pavilion (i.e. the main hall). The statue of Wenshu riding a lion is enshrined on the Buddhist platform in the middle of the hall. It is 9.87 meters tall. This is the tallest statue of Wenshu in all the temples in Wutai Mountain. It is a classic work of the Ming Dynasty.
It was not a coincidence that I came here this time. The building behind the Da Wenzhu Hall was under repair, so I couldn’t visit it yet. It was a pity.

This road is steep and steep like a ladder, and gradually climbs between, birds and the surrounding scenery, vast and powerful if the wind is false. And there are many platforms in the twists and turns of the stone steps, as well as a small pavilion with walls, which can be seen while climbing and resting to enjoy the scenery of the Buddha country. On this road, you can often see the scene of devout Buddhists step by step.
Guanghua Temple
山山在穷游Entering the Wutai Mountain Scenic Area, you will find that there are really too many places worth visiting. I hiked in Wutai Mountain for a few days and also felt the sunrise and sunset of Dongtai and Xitai. But what impressed me most was Guanghua Temple. Although it is not a very famous temple, the quietness it gave me is hard to find in Wutai Mountain.

Dongtai Peak
EE23***41If you drive to Hongmenyan by yourself, you need to walk to the top of Dongtai (when I went there, they said there was no shuttle bus). It takes about 40-60 minutes to reach the top of the mountain. Because we went to watch the sunrise, it was early and dark, and the wind on the mountain was super strong. I would like to remind those who go later to bring a flashlight, wear a thick windproof coat, remember to bring a hat, preferably earmuffs, gloves, non-slip shoes, eat something before going up the mountain, and don't climb hypoglycemia. The scenery on the mountain is beautiful, but you must protect yourself from freezing. I went there in October and there was already snow on the mountain.

They gave Pusa Ding Grand Lama the seal of the governor and ordered the entire province of Shanxi, including the governor of Shanxi, the general of Datong, and the governor of Daizhou, to pay tribute to the Grand Lama.
Fanxianshan
Yyjw2000Fanxian Temple is also known as Fox Fairy Temple. It is a temple that integrates Buddhism and Taoism. Fanxian Temple is on Fanxian Mountain opposite Shuxiang Temple in Wutai Mountain.
Fanxian Temple is not big, but it is very popular. There are many fox fairies enshrined in it. According to local people, when fox fairies came here, they were influenced by Buddhism every day and did many good deeds. Finally, in order to commemorate the merits of fox fairies, people built Fox Fairy Temple. People who come here to ask for marriage say that it is more effective.
There are many legends about fox fairies about this place. According to the description of local people in Wutai Mountain, black and white foxes are often seen around Fanxian Mountain. In fact, they are the incarnation of fox fairies.
It is said that fox fairies are very effective, especially for seeking marriage and seeking partial wealth. After reaching the top, plaques and banners with the words "whatever you ask for will be answered" are hung in many places in the temple, and believers who come here to pray for blessings are often encountered.
Some people say, "The most difficult road in the world is the road of love. The marriage road on Fanxian Mountain is a gravel road. It is very steep when going up the mountain and very slippery when going down the mountain. The temples in Wutai Mountain are all flat roads, but only Fanxian Mountain is rugged and difficult to walk on. This proves that among the millions of roads in the world, the road of love is the most difficult. Only by going to Fanxian Mountain can you experience the ups and downs of the road of love, and only by making a red prayer belt can you cultivate the right relationship." If you want to find your marriage, you naturally cannot miss such a magical place.
